Not to turn this in to an EE listing...but if you missed out and were looking for a particular barrel option, feel free to post here. I've got 4 variations on the way as spares and if someone needed one of the configurations I ordered I'd be willing to help someone out.

16 inch 5.56 tAR and 16 inch 7.62 tAR ordered 2/1, delivered today 3/4.

Are all of the 7.62 barrels arriving without a gas block and gas tube as another poster shared or did some receive complete assemblies?

20" 7.62 from OP shipped. Looks like they have more in stock ready to ship.
Planning on using a .450 spacing SLR7 on it, someone tell me if that won't work. |

Got mine (16" PredatAR barrel w/M4 barrel extention) yesterday and started assembling my poor-man's PredatAR on a Stealth 2.0 upper/handguard and LT-15 lower. That PredatAR 16" barrel is going to make for a light, fast rifle.

Got my 12" Stealth 5.56 barrel in yesterday. Like others have said, no gas block or tube included, even though it was pictured as such (just looked and they've taken the photos down LOL)
To add insult to injury, there are some serious scars around the gas seat, I'm assuming maybe from some sort of test rig? Looks worse than it is, doesn't catch a fingernail and mic'd fairly concentric, still ugly if anyone would be bothered by it (I won't) Overall for the price paid, I'm OK with it, as long as it runs and lives up to accuracy expectations. Transactions like this are common practice and wholly expected when dealing with OP/DVOR, so my bar was set pretty low from the get-go :) Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Mine was supposed to be here Wednesday. The mailman hasn’t delivered claiming “animal interference”. My dog has been inside, with the door and security door shut. I may have to go pick it up at the PO at this point.
ETA: Picked mine up from the PO today. Box or tube rather was torn open and looks like it had been resealed but otherwise looks good. Just waiting on MD and a gas block exchange now. |

They are a stainless steel with a coating applied if I remember correctly. The coating is something like KG Guncoat, not nitride. The gas ports were masked off to prevent the applied coating from going in the gas port.

From LaRue: "Ion Bond coating is roughly 5-millionths of an inch thick and roughly 90 Rockwell in hardness (harder than hard-chrome). It won't chip, peel, corrode, and is heat-resistant to over 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. "

I can’t seem to find the gas port size for the 18” predaTR mid length. I don’t have pin gauges. I’m trying to decide if I want/need an SLR adj. gas block or not before I put it together. Anyone know?

Are the 7.62 extensions GTG in a DPMS style upper?

Iirc LaRue uses Armalite pattern extensions. Depending on your situation it may be cheaper to have the extension swapped to DPMS. |

I thought that might be the case,
as the uppers have the angle profile at the rear |

Yeah, I suspect the uppers from OP, PA and Dvor are NOS from the Ultimate Upper days and they made both DPMS and Armalite pattern uppers. The LaRue bolt is $324 in a OBR parts kit they sell. Thats the only way to get one last I knew. Some other bolts may work as well, but I don’t recall which off the top of my head. I want to say Armalite, LMT and maybe JP but I’m not 100% certain.

So I ordered one of the 16" 7.62 tAR barrels from OP back at the end of January with plans to swap it into an 18" 308 Match Grade Upper for a lightweight 308 build. It arrived in early March, but I didn't get around to doing the swap until today. Everything went smooth until I discovered that my brand new Dead Air Nomad Ti with 5/8-24 direct thread adapter wouldn't thread on. The threads engaged, but it was way too tight to thread on by hand - even after cleaning the threads with a brush and applying some high temp anti seize.
I'm limited on the number of barrels without muzzle devices that I could cross check the Nomad Ti on, but it easily threaded onto a Siete 308 barrel, a Siete 22-250 barrel, and the original 18" 308 MGU barrel after removing the birdcage flash hider. At that point I was convinced the threads on the 16" tAR barrel from OP must be slightly out of spec, but then I threaded the Siete thread protectors and the MGU birdcage flash hider onto the tAR barrel without issue. So now I think it may be a tolerance stacking issue, but the only combination that doesn't work is the one I want - the Nomad Ti on the 16" tAR barrel. I've had it longer than 30 days, but I guess I'm going to call OP on Monday and try to get them to exchange it for me. Unless someone has a better idea. |

Plan B and cherry bomb it? I have everything in that set up including my nomad ti. Sacrificial blast baffle is nice on a TI silencer IMO. Barely adds any weight or length. That’s what I have on my 16” tar 308 with SLR adjustable GB. |

CTR. Rat is nice but ctr is lighter and was the original stock on it.

[#43]
I used CTR on everything before LT started making the RAT.
The takeoff 18” MGU barrel, gas block/tube, barrel nut, and birdcage flash hider weighs 55oz. The 16” tAR barrel, SLR adjustable gas block/tube, and barrel nut weighs 37oz. The Dead Air Nomad Ti with direct thread adapter weighs 10oz. So even after adding the can I should be about a 1/2 pound to the good. |
|
|

[#44]
9lb 13oz as shown, unloaded. I could shave a few more ounces, but super happy with how it turned out.
Attached File ETA: I ended up going with the Plan B system on the Dead Air Nomad Ti - specifically a Rearden Atlas Titanium adapter and a 6310RF Flash Hider from Revival Defense/Forward Controls Design. I used the Precision Armament Accu-Washers to time the muzzle device - great system. |
