I placed an order with RRA on 09/30/2020 and was told delivery time would run 3 to 4 months.
On 11/15/2020 I inquired concerning a delivery update and was told that because bolt carriers were on back order deliveries had been extended to 6 months.
On 02/23/2021 I again contacted RRA to see if they had a more definitive delivery date and was told that deliveries had again been delayed and were currently at 8 months PLUS again due to shortage of parts.
Although it is understandable that COVID has effected production of parts in many sectors certainly the ability exists to replace suppliers in an effort to provide reasonable customer service. Come on, the fact is that they aren't building benchrest rifles requiring highly specialized suppliers.
On the other hand, I guess from RRA's perspective, since they required a deposit representing 100% of the purchase price they have had the use of a lot of money, interest free, resulting in little incentive to provide reasonable delivery times to their customers. I guess it is about time to start looking for a different AR company that has been proactive about securing replacement suppliers and reasonable delivery times for their customers.
UPDATE: After a discussion with both Steve Mayer of RRA and my FFL I found out that there had been some confusion concerning pre-payment policy. To clear up the
misunderstanding, it should be noted that RRA does not require a deposit of any kind when placing an order. My apology for my incorrect accusation that a deposit or full payment was required when placing an order.
