Never a problem to CALL up and get your "pick" of specifications on a night vision purchase.
Folks do it all the time.
This is easiest done on the phone. You call up and you say
"hey I'm looking for an unfilmed unit with....." and we pull the list and give you a couple options while noting specifications, image quality, etc. so you know ahead exactly what your getting.
"Why can't I email for this?" Well you can but we always ask folks to do that when your actually ready to purchase. Why? Cause inventory changes hourly. We sell a ton of PVS14s and ship a ton of PVS14s six days a week. And we've had it happen in the past where a "researcher" emails, gets specs on a couple units and then WEEKS LATER expects those tubes to still be sitting around ready for him now that he's finally ready to purchase. And of course the reality is, they were likely sold that day he first asked. So if you email for tube specs, understand it's first come first served and we can only "hold" a unit for you with firm commitment and an order.
Some ask "why can't you post current specs in each listing like some of these new companies do"- to be blunt we just don't have the time to task someone with what would be a full time job of constantly updating the website because we sell and ship out a lot of PVS14s and inventory changes hourly. Then also you have the human factor of someone complaining that "Unit # such and such isn't still there?" Again, why it's SO MUCH EASIER to simply make a phone call. You know exactly what's ready to ship, you pick exactly what you want and it's immediately labeled for YOU and shipped!
So it's EASIEST FOR EVERYONE for you to make a quick phone call and get the info you need immediately. And I get it, you might be used to companies that don't answer their phones, but that ain't us! We list two phone numbers and answer our phones constantly- 9am to 7pm Eastern every day except Sunday because after several years of working 7 days a week, we had to get a little rest to avoid burnout... Yes, it's been THAT busy the last few years. And we have 3 people usually doing the work of 12 people here.
"But what if I want to request certain specifications?" Sure no problem, we have people do that all the time. However we do that a little different- we will start with going over what's closest to that in current inventory with you- often times customers are happy they called
because they find something BETTER than what they originally wanted. Also, since we do NOT charge your card until the order is ready to ship, you aren't paying upfront for the hope that one day you'll get a super awesome tube. Your paying WHEN YOUR UNIT SHIPS OUT to you and if you make a simple phone call, you'll know exactly what your getting. Worse case scenario and we don't have something you like ready to go out same day most of our PVS14s normally ship out same day you order), we take your name, email address and phone along with what your looking for and you get contacted when a tube with what you want shows up- again, no money out of your pocket until it's ready to ship.
"Why don't you charge upfront, is this just some "marketing stick?" We have been in business 30 years and it's tremendously easier to NOT charge upfront for items that are not immediately ready to ship. And all companies that process credit cards sign an agreement stating that they will not charge more than 30 days before an order ships. And it's a lot easier on our accounting system when money is received right before an order ships versus months ahead. Finally, it's a helluva better for the customer not to have funds taken from you before an order ships.
Many folks just call up and say
"just pick me out a nice one" which is fine also. But I'll be honest, it would help if you let us know anything super important to you in selection. For example we have had some folks call and say
"I don't give a darn about performance just get me the cleanest tube you got!" others will call and say "
I'm fine with blems, get me the most performance for the lowest price!" and we can accommodate both of those. Hearing this from you helps us to pick the best unit based on YOUR needs.
We also regularly check over average tube specs in batches of tubes received to keep track of trends, etc.
For example- in our PVS14 WP3 "High Grade" units that utilize a VH or YH grade of Elbit tube- in every batch of 50 we normally see 48 or 49 of them being over 2,200 FOM
In our PVS14 WP3UF UN-FILMED units that utilize a 20UM L3 Harris tube- in every batch of 50 we normally see 49-50 that are over 2200 FOM. We stopped carrying the lower grade "18um" tubes because we noticed average specs in that grade were much lower and they had a lot more cosmetic issues. The 20UM grade was the better choice for cleaner tubes with more performance.
We answer our phones 9am to 7pm daily, feel free to call with special requests, etc.
We are celebrating 30 years in business this year and we are one of the oldest and longest running night vision dealers in the industry.
