This is a general question for Steve Horsman. I'm the original owner of a Government Model Springfield Armory 4-14 x 56 rifle scope. It spent a few years on a safe queen, and most in the box. It is a mint condition, older scope with Japanese glass, first focal place (FFP), a built in range finder - hold over, with integral bubble level. When I decided to mount it and ran the ocular all the way out I noticed flecks near the reticle so I called customer service. Not surprising, SA can't repair vintage or any other scopes. I was very happy to learn that CS will replace the scope with a new Vortex; however it would need to be a Second Focal Plane Viper VHS-4308. The CS rep said that's the only model available as a replacement. I had hoped to swap in a FFP scope for the SA FFP scope. Besides selling the new scope (on-hold pending vacations) and applying the funds to a FFP scope, are there any other options within the Springfield Armory company? Thanks.
