Hi All! ECCO Machine here!
For many members, no introduction is needed. I have, however, noticed that even though we’re pretty well known in the industry, a lot of folks are unaware of the breadth & depth of products and services we offer, so we’ll start with a brief overview of who we are and what we do!
I'm certainly not new to ARFCOM, been a member for many years with the username sixtysixduece. But I decided our commercial account should bear the company name.
Anyway, I founded ECCO Machine in 2014, and originally did a lot of job shop type work, as well as some gunsmithing and making of personal firearms (some of you might recall the ½ scale AR-15 back then!). In 2017 I became an FFL07/02 SOT, spent the first couple years doing heavy line gunsmithing (lots of PRS builds) and one-off custom parts on manual machines while developing my own suppressor designs. Soon I started to become known for the suppressor work, especially mount conversions and adapters, and before long it became more than a full time job, so I brought my wife, Jerrica, on board to help get things done. But it was still a lot, and for a long time we had a considerable backlog on services. In 2020 we completed construction of our new 2,800 SF facility, and soon after got rolling with CNC machines. We were still backed up for awhile, but in late 2021 and 2022, we bought more CNCs and hired a full time machine operator, finally got rid of that dreaded wait list! Once that was handled, we were able to focus more on our own products, which brings us to part two of the introduction….
We are both a production manufacturer and a gunsmith (really more suppressor smith). Our services include the aforementioned suppressor mount conversions, as well as recoring of both production and “Form 1”, suppressors, general suppressor repairs, pistol barrel threading and other repairs and custom alterations.
https://www.eccomachine.net/ecco-machine-services/As for products, our line is pretty expansive, especially for a smaller operation. We offer 19 different production suppressor models, ranging from tiny rimfire cans and ultralight pistol models to large magnum and big bore rifle suppressors, as well as integrally suppressed firearms. We also manufacture a dizzying array of mounts, adapters and recoil boosters, more options than any other manufacturer I’m aware of; in 1.375-24 Bravo (HUB) direct thread mounts alone we support 29 different muzzle thread patterns! Beyond production offerings, we do semi-custom and full custom suppressors, mounts, adapters and other parts.
https://www.eccomachine.net/shop/As we continue to grow and are able to offer more and more products in greater quantities, I have decided it’s time to have a paid vendor account here. We never really advertised before, since word of mouth had us at or beyond production capacity, but even though we still would not be able to meet the demands of large quantity orders, we are at a point where we actually do have a respectable inventory and want to become more mainstream in the production suppressor world, get more than just a few hundred cans out in the wild.
We do fit an interesting niche in the market, as aside from offering so many models, we do so at a a price point that isn’t “budget brand”, but also below what most consider the “premium” stuff. We would consider our line the “working man’s” class, made from premium aerospace materials precision machined on CNC equipment but still hand assembled/welded and finished by yours truly. All of our cans are made from one or a combination of 17-4 PH stainless steel heat treated to H900 condition, 6Al4V Gr. 5 titanium and 3Al2.5V Gr. 9 CWSR titanium (tubes). To stay in our target price range, we have steered clear of very expensive and difficult to machine alloys like Inconel 718 or Cobalt-6 that are not needed for the majority of suppressor users. That is not to say we don’t make hard use cans; we certainly do! The difference is that paying considerably less for an all stainless model simply means you’re going to need to use a muzzle brake instead of an open tine flash hider or direct thread mount if you’re going to beat the everloving shit out of the can with repeated rapid fire or full auto mag dumps on a short barreled rifle/machine gun.
Our suppressor models:
Accipiter & Aquilae-These are heavy duty fully welded tubeless 1.6” diameter rifle suppressors in either 17-4 H900 stainless or 6Al-4V titanium. Large magnum and full auto rated, available in 5.56/6.5mm, .30, .375 and .458 calibers with lengths from 6” on up. 1.375-24 Bravo (HUB) compatible.
Valkyrie-much like Accipiter, but a little slimmer at 1.5” OD and not quite as heavily built. 17-4 H900 tubeless construction with the same caliber and length options as Accipiter/Aquilae. 1.375-24 Bravo (HUB) compatible.
Furtivus-This is the slimline can at 1.36” OD. Also a tubeless 17-4 H900 critter, the applications are hunting rifles or weapons with small inside diameter handguards that won’t accommodate larger suppressors. Titanium will be an option, just don’t have any built at the moment. Furtivus sports standard 1.125-28 Alpha pattern threads.
Five By Five-This is our 5.56mm K can that gets it’s name from being 5” long with 5 baffles. Developed specifically for short barreled Ars and other carbines, it’s a pretty remarkable performer. Overbored to .315” for reduced backpressure, it’s also good for 6mm, .257 cal and even 6.5mm rounds with good alignment.
Susurrus/Susurrus Mini/Susurrus RF-this is the integrally suppressed model. Made in rimfire, small centerfire and standard centerfire flavors, we do keep a couple on hand as complete weapons, but most often build Susurrus on customer supplied bolt action rifles.
Phoenix IX-our standard user serviceable 9mm pistol suppressor, Phoenix IX is an all titanium and stainless steel can measuring only 1.25” OD and weighing just 9.8 ounces including piston. It has an integral booster assembly that takes industry standard BPSITIN pistons (Rugged, SilencerCo, KVP, etc) and 1.125-28 Alpha mounts & adapters.
Phoenix XLV-our user serviceable .45 caliber pistol suppressor, Phoenix XLV is an all titanium and stainless steel critter of 1.375” diameter, 7.5” length and weighing a just 10.8 ounces including piston. Like Phoenix IX, it has an integral booster assembly that takes industry standard BPSITIN pistons (Rugged, SilencerCo, KVP, etc) and 1.125-28 Alpha mounts & adapters.
Phoenix TL-a 9mm can made entirely of 17-4 H900 stainless steel, the TL stands for “tubeless”, and this one was designed to be a more economical option for people who want to run it primarily or exclusively on carbines. Phoenix TL sports the same 1.125-28 Alpha threads as our other pistol models, but does not have a booster assembly (one is available if a person decides they do want to run it on locked breech handguns). Phoenix TL is slim at 1.3” diameter and comes in 5.5”, 6.5” and 7.5” lengths with weights in ounces that mirror the lengths.
TLX-Made in 9mm and .45 caliber, this is the titanium evolution of Phoenix TL, and at 4.1 oz (.45) or 4.3 oz (9mm), it is light enough to run on many/most pistols without a booster using our ultralight 7075-T651 aluminum mount. Despite it’s light weight, it’s also really tough-we even tested it on an 18” .308 autoloader!
Canine-Originally a wet & wiped special purpose aluminum can, the current generation is basically a shortened TLX. By going titanium and tubeless, we cut the weight to just 3 ounces with mount while also getting another baffle in for 6 total. Wipes proved to be more hassle than they were worth, so that feature was dropped, but the extra baffle and increased volume of tubeless construction resulted in a lighter, quieter and lower maintenance suppressor that is small enough at 4.3” to be put on a firearm that is carried.
Cheetah-Cheetah is a lightweight user-serviceable suppressor in .32 caliber. Barely bigger than rimfire models, it offers really good performance with rounds like .32 ACP without having to tolerate a 9mm sized can on your smaller .32 pistol. Also a great option for .32-20 rifles or M1895 Nagant revolvers!
Ocelot-our standard rimfire can that is standard sized and pretty much standard performance, at least as premium .22 cans go. I won’t BS you and say that it’s somehow better than other great rimfire models from the likes of Thunderbeast and Dead Air, it’s just our entry in that category. 1” diameter, 5.5” long, , 4.7 ounces, all stainless steel and titanium, full auto and 5.7x28/.22 Hornet rated, it can be cleaned in all the nasty solutions or ultrasonics.
Ocelot Micro-this one is a little more unique, not that many .22 mini cans on the market, and this one does better than any other we’ve found. Just 3.5” long and 3 ounces, it has the same ratings as it’s bigger brother. Little bit of first round pop that’s just inherent with such a short can, but it’s surprisingly quiet for such a little guy.
Salamander-At 3/4” diameter, this one I designed for tube fed rifles and small pistols with low sights. And it even surprised me with how well it ended up performing, way better than my expectations for such a slim thing. 5.2” long and only 2.5 ounces, you really can’t even tell it’s there until you fire the weapon!
Caracal-this is our purpose-built 5.7x28mm can. Another tubeless model, it can be had in 17-4 H900 stainless steel or 6Al-4V titanium. It’s slim at 1.24” diameter, pretty short at 6.1”. light at 6.2 ounces in SS and 3.7 in Ti, and does exactly what it's supposed to do, bringing 5.7mm muzzle report below the level of the port noise and the bullet’s sonic crack. Overbored a bit to help with backpressure, it can also be used with smaller powder charge rounds up to .25 caliber, such as .25-20 Winchester or .256 Win Mag. And of course .17 Hornet, .22 Hornet, .22 TCM, .17 WSM, .22 WMR, etc.
All of our products come with a lifetime warranty against defects in workmanship or materials, and if it’s ever unclear whether a problem was our fault or not, we err on the side of taking care of our customers. Our warranty also includes work we do and parts we install in/on products that we didn’t originally manufacture. We are very customer service oriented, and though we do occasionally miss or forget to respond to an email or message, we do our absolute best to make sure that everyone is happy! On that nore, while I do have to earn a living, money is not my primary motivator. If it were, I wouldn’t be manufacturing in this industry! I probably pay myself less than most of you who are reading this make. But I love guns, and recognition and respect in this community are what’s most important to me!
