Heading to BB at the end of March.

Mostly going to be in the state park but probably a day in the NP.

Any pointers? Best trails? Best roads?

Will have a stock Tacoma and GX in the vehicle pool.

NP is more like 2-3 days
Not a lot of off roading
All trails are good

Depends what terrain/views you want and how strenuous you want to go.
The Chisos mountains area is quite scenic.  The desert portion of the park is pretty flat.  The Santa Elena canyon is cool too.

Good lodge in thr NP with good food and views.

Do the full-day Chisos hike from thr lodge up to the crest.  It's amazing.

Go to the western point area and do that hike, it's amazing.

Do the central hike to the Rock formations, it's amazing.

That whole park is unappreciated,  it's a good NP.

Take water.  Lots of water and a variety of clothes. March is about the latest the weather will feel comfortable there but your temps can vary from freezing to the 90's.

Take all the things.  There isn't any store to run too if you forget something. If you want to stay in the lodge, make your reservations now. Same applies to the campgrounds.

Mostly spending time in the state park. Info is pretty limited on that park it seems.

We are gonna spend one night in the interior and one night near the river of the state park.

We have one night in the national park at a roadside primitive campground.

We plan to hike a few shorter trails (under 6 miles) but right now our plans are wide open.

Check the park warnings when you get there, one of the trails is currently closed due to rockfalls. (IRRC the canyon trail, but I cannot remember.)

Never followed up.

We stayed at Pila Montoya 3 at the state park and then Upper Madura campground along the river.

In the NP, we stayed at Paint Gap 3.

We did some limited hiking, including both canyon trails (Closed Canyon and Santa Elena) and the Window trail.

Nights were all over the place. First night in the Ranch it was calm and cool. The river bluff at Madura was good but crazy windy. Paint Gap was great and cool at night.
