Anybody know of any good ways to sell a heifer that we don't want put to meat? She is the kindest most friendly bovine we have ever been around, so much so that we could not send her to freezer camp as was originally intended. That, and she is small, the size of a Dexter, even at 2 years old. However, we are moving and our living situation will be fluid for the next 12-18 months. She would make a perfect homestead milk cow or just pet that goes mooo.

Any good homestead or such groups on FB or whatever to sell her? If it is between selling her to the slaughter house (or someone to just flip her to a slaughter house) or keeping her, we will figure out how to keep her.

OP, there are homesteading groups.  I'm kind of getting into those but it's a slow "get into" and I don't know who might.

The thing is, if she can't breed and produce milk, she will end up in the freezer for most homesteaders.

You could look into animal rescue in your area.  There are people doing that now and the animals basically become pets.

If you are okay letting her go, not knowing the future, a homestead would be a good choice.  

If you go FB marketplace, you'll get a flipper.

I don't know why she couldn't be bred, but would definitely have to go with a small breed.
