I have a Trijicon VCOG 1-6 on my AR-15. The instructions call for a 100m zero in order for the BDC reticle to be “accurate.” The problem is every range I have ever been to is set up in feet/yards.

The indoor ranges by me are all 25 yards. There are two outdoor ranges by me that have targets at 100 yards, but I doubt either of those ranges would let me shoot from 9 yards behind the firing line for a 100m zero. Maybe if I was the only one at the range at that time...

I know there are adjusted zero targets (for instance, a 100 yard zero shot at 25 yards where you aim at one circle and adjust the impact of your rounds to hit another circle). Does anyone know of a company that makes adjusted zero targets that mix metric and imperial systems of measurement (ideally a 100 meter zero shot at 25 yards or 100 yards)?

How much do you think the bullet (@3,000 fps) will drop in those 9 "extra" yards"?  What's the value of 1 click on the optic in question?  0.1 mil is 0.36 inches @ 100 yards / 0.25 MOA is 0.26 inches @ 100 yards.

Do you expect 0.1 mil (or 0.25 MOA) accuracy from from the gun (or a BDC reticle) @ extended (any) ranges?

From JBM (I picked particulars out of thin air - substitute your own if significantly different) >>>

Before anyone points out the muzzle velocity on the above data, even with a more respectable 2750fps on a 77gr, it's still the same as indicated above from 100 to 109.
