I’m looking at buy Thompson Center 14” barrel from a friend. I’m planning on using it for deer hunting. Has any have experience reloading and hunting with it?

Probably the most awesome .357 caliber.  Have taken several deer with a 10" contender

If you are reloading already then it's not a big change from .357 mag or .38 special reloading.   I like heavy bullets available but can always use .357 in a pinch.

You might try the normal reloading area......Armory\Reloading.   This here is the Reloading of Precision Rifles so you’re in the smaller subset of reloading enthusiasts
.

I played with it in the 80s and 90s. 180 gr bullets were the stuff. 4227 for accuracy, h110/296 for velocity. Today I might look at lil gun or other powders. 2-3 MOA at 100 yards from a 10" contender. Never used it hunting, might do that one day.

My experience and time frame exactly!

Found the 158 Rem JHP's came apart in deer, but the 180 Speer was just right.
