Look up Wyman Meinzer, he does lots of wildlife photography and hunts quite a bit.  Most of his stuff is taken from pretty good distances

Old thread but reminded me of guys that would bow hunt during season and camera in the off season with the same gear (minus the bow).

Pretty much my off-season plans, I need to get a camera that is a little more weather resistant (Canon SX50 HS).

Look at the Lumix series. Some of them are weather resistant.

I was dug in with my camera not rifle at the time ... this was a young Axis that I woulda let grow into a monster anyway but yeah....
