I'm looking at joining Colemans creek in Ellerbe NC. Is anyone a member or has shot there before? From what I have heard it's a top notch range. thoughts?

Coleman's is a great place to shoot. I was a member there a couple years ago but a little drive for me so I let it lapse. I have shot matches there too and they are a lot of fun. Join if you can. You won' regret it.

Thanks for the info I will be signing up this week. I also spoke to someone else about the range and they also spoke very highly of it.

Coleman's Creek is a great place ran by great people. I've been there a few times but I'm not a member only because it's too far away to get there enough to justify the cost of membership.

View Quote I'm a member at Frontline and shoot the 1k yard range monthly. I've been looking at Coleman's to shoot the 1 mile range. It's quite a drive for me (over 2hrs) so it doesn't make sense to join. Does anyone know if you can shoot the 1 mile range without being a member? If not I will probably take the long range class that let's you shoot that far. It's a bucket list item for me. |

I don't think you can go without being a member. When I was a member I could bring guests so maybe see if you know anyone who is a member and go with them.
Getting on the wall for hitting the 12" plate at a mile, even though I have shot longer elsewhere, was my want to do thing when joining and after I did it I didn't like the long drive either and let my membership lapse. I would be a member if I was closer for sure though. |

I joined last night and seeing the responses in this thread. It was the right decision. Been watching Colemans creek videos like they are going out of style
@drfroglegs let me know when you want to try for that mile. Just let me get a couple trips in to get a feel for the place |

I have contemplated joining honestly, just to scratch the itch. The only other way to shoot there is to take the class, but that's $700. It would be cheaper to just join for a year, especially if I go three of four times in a year. Built this 300 PRC just for Coleman's Attached File |

Looking forward to feedback from the new members. I’ve contemplated joining because I have 2 buddies that are members. Their only real complaint is that it’s super busy on the weekends so they have had limited time shooting the past few trips they’ve made.

Can nonmembers shoot at the 1mile range?
At Frontline you have to qualify before they let you on the 1k yard range. They won't even let guests sit on the shooting line and watch. So the 1k range is only open to members. Are guests allowed to shoot at the 1mile range? |

Nice rifle !
I haven't seen anything that says that non members can't shoot the mile but I will check just to make sure and let you know. |

Yes guests can shoot the mile. I have brought guests there when I was a member to do that.

It's another good facility that is too far away for me to justify the cost of membership. I had time and money for all of this stuff when I was single and didn't have a kid lol. I live in Harnett Co now and the closest "long range" place is The Range Complex in Autryville but their range only goes to 600. I go there sometimes for pistol and carbine shooting. The only other place within a distance that's conducive to semi-regular visits is Tony Cowden's place in Harrells that he just expanded. |

View Quote You must live in southern Harnett County as in northern Harnett County Woody's is closer in New Hill. LOL I do plan to go to the Range NRL22 match on the 17th. A buddy shot it last month and said they did a good job and it was a good place. |

I live about 30 minutes from Bragg. I spend a lot of time in New Hill hunting and fishing Jordan/Harris lake but Woody's only has a 550 yd range so...eh. I know they put on great matches though.
