New American Rifle Co Action
For $900 I’m not sure you’ll find a better action with as many features. I was planning on building a 6ARC on an AR but may just have to start a magnum build on one of these… |

That looks interesting. I don’t care for the bolt handle.

I have one on order along with a Xylo chassis. Have a 6mm Bartlien blank, a 6 GT Manson reamer and 500 pieces of brass just waiting.
I see that just last week someone on the hide thread got a shipping notice, but from ARC the last I heard was as of 4/4 they said ~2 weeks. There are a few bolt handle options if you don't like the default one. |

I have a long action with a .588" bolt face on order. I didn't get my order in until May 1st so it'll be awhile until I see my action. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll squeeze into the first run of long actions, whenever that is. Watching the snipers hide thread it looks like only orders from the first day have shipped so far, and only the short action with standard bolt face.

I’m getting a .308 built in a cdg, and sticking the thing into a mdt chassis. I’ve always admired the American Rifle Company founder/designer, and I’ll be eager to start shouting the gun once it’s all put together.

But for now I ordered an action wrench for the Savage 112. And in a couple of weeks I will order a .223 AI reamer to set it back. The throat is starting to show some signs it’s time after 3,800 rounds. I’m still in for the picture pron.🤠 |

I am weak and ordered a second before my first has shown up. I'll have a long action and a short action matched pair.

Got some sierra 107s, Berger hybrid 105s and lapua 105s to give a go. From shooting high power my brand preference is berger so loaded a ladder with those up to 34.5 grains of varget

You've got a shooter there for sure.
My short action barrel went into production this week so hopefully I have it in hand in the next couple weeks. I went with 6 creedmoor because I already had 6.5 dies that will share with it. I've got 115 grain DTACs, H4350, and alpha SRP brass waiting to load up. |

My barrel at Preferred barrel blanks (and short action) updated to "nearly complete" today. I really want to get my hands on it soon.

6mm creedmoor with a 7.5 twist barrel.
I've got the rest of the week to press out some handloads and hopefully I'll have time to shoot it this weekend. I've got a couple hundred pieces of SRP Alpha brass, 115 grain DTAC bullets, and H4350 to try first. |

I made it to the range after work today. I loaded up 50 rounds of some standard data loads to get an initial zero and barrel break-in. Ended up making 2900 fps and holding between 0.5-0.9 MOA groups.
Attached File This is cherry picked, but I shot 4 5-shot groups in a row that were all under 1 MOA. Attached File |

What velocity are you hoping to get out of it? Just out of curiosity. The 6GT seems very efficient to me, 105s at 3k for 35 grains of powder.

I'm aiming for 3000 fps. The creedmoor can push them faster but the cost in barrel wear isn't worth it to me. My break-in loads were 41.0 grains of H4350. I'd guess that I can make 3000 fps with 42.0 or less.
I considered GT or Dasher for this build. What pushed me to creedmoor was I found out I can use 6.5 creedmoor dies that I already have to load 6 creedmoor too. That saved me a couple hundred dollars in dies, and came with a side benefit of being able to push a 6mm bullet really fast if I choose to. If I really do burn this barrel out in 1200 rounds I'll probably go with a shorter cased 6mm on the next one. |

Oh I'm not arguing your choice I'm just curious what the performance expectations are because I never looked at it very hard when I was deciding.
115s @3k is a solid load. In my 6.5x55 I'm maxing out 120s at 3k. |

|
[#33]
They should have made a version that was just AICS. Sounds like their AW interpretation requires some additional parts in the stock. Plus, you supposedly need new barrels from the previous guns.

I think I could probably get 3200 from the 115s, but the barrel life would be less than 1000 rounds |
