Just getting started. 120 gr Berger’s with Accurate LT-30.

I use N-530 with 107 grain SMK's. 2700 fps from a 24" barrel.

My limited experience has shown me that my rifles prefer 90 to 108 grain bullets. I get real "high power" velocities when using them and excellent accuracy.

People are impressed with the 120-123 grain B.C.'s but don't consider the lost velocity when using them.

My go to load right now is 29 grains Win748 and 123 grain Hornady BTHP. They run the same speed(within 5 fps) as the Hornady Black factory ammo.

I have been looking for some 87 grain Hornady V Max to try with 8208XBR, but haven't been able to find any.

Never used the Accurate powder stated. 8208 XBR, CFE 223, H335 and many others provide a good balance of speed and pressure.
Contrary to some peoples beliefs the 120 to 123 grain area is really the sweet spot if...IF... you get appropriate velocities.
Im running 123s around 2600 from an 18 inch with no issues.
Ive had really good accuracy results with the 120s as well.
Most important is the balance of bearing surface, pressure, temp and burn rate.

30.2 grains 8208 under a 100 grain eld-m or nosler ballistic tip.  31 grains 8208 under the 95 vmax.  I prefer the lighter bullets

With CFE I would think? That’s cruzin’ out of an 18 incher. No mention of AR Comp. 🤔. Try that with anything from 107-123.

If you can find it....is right. I’m working with what is available right now but powder is coming back.
I’m shocked at how accurate this rifle is so far with crummy loads. It needs more pressure with this powder so I’m working up cautiously.

Next time I'm able to find some 107s I'm going to try them out.  I went through several pounds of powder trying to get 120+ grain pills to shoot out of my two Grendels and was never impressed by either the accuracy or velocities.  I'm starting to believe thy are simply too heavy for the round.  Also powder selection gets critical when trying to shoot heavies.  I have settled on 8208 XBR but I sometimes see pierced primers with near-max loads.  CFE 223 will give the velocity but it's too damn temp sensitive.

Grendels sure love gold dust.

That load is “warm”.

Nowadays we have to work with what we can find, which makes things difficult to say the least.  I've been doing some work with Nosler CC bullets because I had a case of 1K from some years ago.  Also with StaBALL Match as it's one of the few powders available.  I haven't found the perfect load yet but this one is pretty good, consistently MOA or better.  My gun is a 20" built on a Rexus Outfitters barrel (made by Faxon) on an Aero enhanced receiver.

123 gr Nosler CC, 29.7 gr StaBALL Match, Starline brass, Fed 205 primer, 2.250" OAL:  2466 fps, 10.3 fpd SD,  29.6 fpd ES.

Is this a bolt action load?  Or a gas gun load?  I havent messed with the gold dust yet.
