Are there alternatives I can buy locally instead of the Lyman or FA media reactivator. I have to imagine they are just rebranding some sort of common polish. Thought about Brasso, but don’t think the ammonia would be a good idea on rifle brass.

Anything you guys have found that works well?

NuFinish liquid car polish (flat orange bottle) is a fav here. You can use it with a capful of mineral spirits.

Never use Lyman's red death media!

I buy media in bulk, if it gets too dirty, I throw it away.

Mineral spirits and a little Nu Finish has been my method for decades when dry tumbling. I use untreated corn cob to remove case lube from resized brass.

Rejuvenating media is a wives tale.  Buy media in bulk.  All you are doing is trying to polish turd!
And, just throw it away.
Corncob blasting media 14/20 grit from Graingers or McMaster Carr
Lizard Litter @ Pet Smart etc is ground walnut shells.
Nufinish works well.
But, IMHO
Iosso
Flitz
Dillon
do a better job.

I use a rotary tumbler with Brass Juice Case Wash. Then rinse and dry in my Lyman brass drier.

No steel pins, no dry media.

I’m finding this out… you’re just rolling your brass around in the same carbon. The residue is nasty after a few “rejuvenations”

My personal experience trying to "rejuvenate" polishing media was it worked one time, then the media got so dirty it was better to replace it.  Same results with corn cob and walnut media.

I keep the used.drier sheets and cut.them in 2x2 squares or so. Removes all the dust ,grit and carbon.

You will still need.to change it but it lasts a lot longer

With either corn, or walnut, the edges get rounded off and they don’t bite enough.

Time for a change of media.

Dryer sheets:
Go to the head of the class...

My method is paper towels for the same effect.
