This is a TECHNICAL FORUM, not General Discussion. The management has set forth a higher standard to be upheld here than in GD. If the original post is questionable to you, IM one of the moderators and alert them. DO NOT troll other people's posts who annoy you. You're not doing anyone a favor and will probably get in trouble yourself. If you think someone is out of line use the "REPORT" button and let the mods handle it.
If you are new, or need a refresher of the Code of Conduct, please be sure to read it. Link
The following rules are in addition to the CoC, so please make sure you read and understand them as well.
- READ THE FAQS FIRST
- USE THE REPORT BUTTON: Be
polite and act like an adult; this is not general discussion. If someone has made a foolish purchase or given foolish advice do not call them names or use profanity. Explain politely what you believe the problem is or contact a moderator or staff member. Similarly, if you think someone is shilling please contact a moderator and let us investigate.
- POST THREADS IN THE CORRECT SECTIONS.
Please do not post threads about new assault weapon laws, movies or other items that are not related to the physical functioning of Precision Rifles. IF A THREAD HAS BEEN MOVED, IT MAY NOT LEAVE A POINTER TO ITS NEW LOCATION. Click on the "My Topics" button to see the new location of your post.
- KEEP YOUR COMMENTS ON-TOPIC AND YOUR SMART-ALEC COMMENTS TO YOURSELF. The
technical forums are for technical discussions, and posting stupid comments if you think someone else's comments are not up to your standards are a sure way to get you into trouble. Please do not post funny Photoshops, cute pictures or internet "meme" in the technical sections. .
- Do NOT make claims or provide expertise regarding items you have no first hand experience with.
- Do not make comments about other members lack of posts or time on the site.
There are very experienced military personnel and law enforcement officers who only post here once in awhile. If you think someone is making false statements about their experience or background please contact a moderator. This has been a problem in the past and will be dealt with.
- If someone appears new or inexperienced, try to be helpful. If you are new or inexperienced in some area please avoid giving advice about something which you are not knowledgeable about.
- Please use thread titles that give some indication what the thread is about.
For example if your new Hellblast light does not work try "Hellblast light broke" vs. "well this sucks" or "what do you think about this" Using generic thread titles will make it less likely that someone who is familiar with light (or whatever) will see thread, also the thread will not show up in SEARCH later when someone else encounters the same problem.
- If
you have a problem with a product or dealer like shipping or delivery issues please post that in the Equipment Exchange Feedback Forum. If your thread does not relate to the physical functioning of a Precision Rifle, such as slow or fast shipping, you should be posting in EE feedback. Please knock off the whining in every thread where there is a question regarding a cosmetic flaw on a receiver etc whether you personally don't care if your new firearm has a cosmetic flaw isn't something you need to share over and over with an exasperated sigh.
- Dealers are not to make posts about products they sell. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO "INDUSTRY PARTNERS"; however Industry Partners are still required to obtain Staff permission when advertising in the Precision Rifle technical sections (except for the New Products
section). If you are buying products solely to resell them, or otherwise involved in regular business transactions, you are considered a dealer-this is not the sole definition of dealer. If you are unsure, ask. That you don't bother to pay income tax or sales tax doesn't mean that you are not a dealer. That you do not have a business license or insurance does not mean you are not a dealer. That you operate out of your house or garage and do not have a regular place of business does not mean you are not a dealer.
