I mean, $25 is pretty cheap.

But $7.50 is CHEEEEEAP.

My son and I ordered a half dozen today as backup/reserve radios.

Probably build a portable repeater out of a couple.

ETA:  Misprint.  It was $7.50 for TWO radios, with all the goodies.

Amazon wants $7.50 just for the car charger. Must be using a coupon or something. I would like to know who is selling CCR's for that price.

ebay.

I think they moved to a new model, and are dumping the older model.

Still, a disposable dual band HT.

Paid with a USAA CC, so if they don't, I'm covered. And used it through Ebay, so I have their protection as well.

Sold out.......

BTW, I had to order something on Amazon and threw in another UV-82 in the basket, for just $24.  2 days later it was sitting on my front porch. They changed the PTT button and it has two separate buttons instead of one dual button.
The small antenna that comes with it, works remarkably well. I was able to talk to my buddy who lives two miles away, on Simplex. He had 3 bars on me. I could not reach him with my Kenwood TH-F6a nor with Icom Id-51a, from the same spot. Not bad for a $24 radio!

Found another one UV-82. Almost bought it but my PAYPAL account has been suspended.
WTF? They want me to send them a copy of my driver's license and a proof of address. I've been using Paypal for many years and never had to do this. Why the heck do they need my info. They are not a bank. They have my credit card info already.
This pisses me off. Big brother is taking care of us. F*cking idiots.

I really wanted to get these. They make perfect gifts to my friends who are kind if interested in getting a HAM license.

I have a UV-5b that I got for ~$30 a couple years ago, but I couldn't pass up a pair of UV-82s for $7.64 shipped.

Damn, that is crazy!

I've already got 2 Baofengs that I don't use... but for tree fiddy a piece, I guess 2 more are on the way.  Think I'll go with the 82s, I don't have one of those yet.

The UV-82s linked above say Baofeng.

I ordered a pair.  If they're Pofungs or something, I'll file an ebay claim.

Look through the pictures again. Some of them are Pofung, some of them are baofeng... best case scenario, file claim, business refunds and says just keep it, too expensive to ship back.

Side note: Does anyone know if they make a rack charger for these things? Like a charger that hold 10 of these things?

I think they're the same radio.  Or at least first cousins.

Baofeng = Pofung ?

I doubt you're going to find a battery for $3.50, so just buy these, remove the batteries, and throw away the radios

With these you can program NOAA channels to check forcasts and also listen to the radio with them. They make good camping companions when outside cell coverage.

I just ordered 4 radios for $15.  I can leave one in my truck, one in my office, etc.  For the price it's good for a spare battery.

If anyone is looking for a way to charge these from a 12v source you can pick up a buck converter from ebay for $4.  Dial it in to produce 10v and feed the charger base with that.

EU to USA plug adapters sell cheap. A more expensive adapter can be bought at Walmart. They are usually found at the luggage section. The charger unit is usually universal and can accept 110 - 240 VAC, 50 or 60 Hz.

Got a message from fleay saying they've been pulled, but I "should" get them anyway. Whatever.

The GT3MKII radios have the better receivers as well, like the B5/6. I have 2 of them and they are good radios. Come with a high gain Sainsonic antenna as well.
We use them outside around our place to stay in contact. I have more expensive HTs with admittedly better sound and ears but these are good radios for the price.
