Hiked into an access for the Missouri River. Solid S9 static on 40m and it might rain.

Rough copy tonight!! Lightning maps .org is showing 500+ strikes per minute!  Most of the lightning is right in my skip zone so I don't have very good ears tonight.

Thanks.  I heard you a little bit mentioning the lightning, but even you were a tough copy tonight.

I couldn't hear anything last night on net freq.  And I was running 20 watts on Xiegu G90, so I doubt anybody could hear me.

I always have lightningmaps.org up on a web browser in my shack. Very helpful to see what is around.

I checked it during the net to see what areas might be problematic. I did see some clusters in your general area, so am not surprised you had to unplug. The noise on the band last night made everything very difficult.

To no small extent, in spite of really crummy conditions we did make the net work.

There is nothing more fun than having a dogwalker amble by when you are calling in artillery corrections into a dead mic.

He didn't ask he just glanced at me, stared ahead obviously upset and kept walking.

Some loud 7 land stations on 7.212 wiping the net out for me.  I can hear it between their transmissions but not reliably enough to try to check in.

You were 20 over but the static crashes even drowned you out. It's been off and on foul weather all day.

Tornado warning. Thats awesome. The last one went 4 miles north of us. The radar shows this one about the same distance south of us.

My favorite thing I said into a dead mic was, "The one with the biggest tits."

My second favorite was "Djibouti? You gotta be French Foreign Legion! Only three things survive there. Snakes, scorpions and Foreign Legionnaires. "

Then I started speaking high school French.

That was another one that didn't even go near the ten foot pole leaning against the garage.

Any idea what the bands will do tonight?

Higher bands were trash earlier.

Not sure about 40m. Always noisy at home.

It's up to the NCS, but we might have better luck on 20.   Lots of QSB, lots of static, NCS is anywhere from an S2 to in the mud for me.

Edit: I only see 2 other 40 meter stations on my waterfall, very unusual for 40 to be so dead.
