Did it come with a soft case?  Mine came in a week ago, still at the smith's, but it did not come with the soft case.

Mine did not, it was packed in a cardboard box with foam insert. Pretty nice packaging but no soft case “test target” was not included either, it was a generic sub moa copy group printed on the card and something like .4457 “ that is the average size test groups we get from these rifles” I seen the same tag on another pro HMR at another dealer today. waiting on my components, optic, and base to get here so I can try it out.

No soft case, just a box.

No test targets anymore either. Just the printed card.

Mine too.  I called Bergara and they said they have not included targets with their rifles for over a year.  They told me it was too much time to shoot it and include the target.  They said since they are shooting so well, they don't think they need to do that.  I'll post pics and range results as soon as I get the rifle and go to the range.

Not yet. I did grab a couple boxes of Federal Gold Medal 130gr Bergers to try in it. It will probably be a few more weeks before I get time to shoot unfortunately.

Seems like bullshit to me not to do a test group on a $1500 “semi custom” rifle. They at least put some rounds down range since mine had carbon and copper fouling

I would agree, I was pretty disappointed that mine didn't come with one especially since I have yet to be impressed with the groups that I'm getting out of it.

It's a pro in 308 win, last range trip out I was able to get the Federal 168 GMM to shot 2 out of 3 groups sub-moa but they were just barely and the third group wasn't. I'm trying to find a hunting round that it likes but so far I haven't found anything that shoots sub-moa that isn't a match bullet.

I had the same issues with my standard version.  Finally found Berger's 185 classic hunter factory load and it shoots better than FGMM.

I'll have to double check on the round count, but it's less than 100 so far.

I haven't tried any handloads yet, was really hoping that I could find a factory hunting load that shot well and then stock up on that so I would always have something that I knew I could count on.

I’ll shop around when I know the budget for sure, but I’m thinking the NX8 4-32 FFP. I’ve wanted one ever since I got to shoot one on a buddy’s rifle. It’s $$$ but worth it to me. God knows I’ve bought dumber things.

I bought a gen 1 pst 6-24 FFP mrad closeout from euro optics for 450. Seekins 20 moa base, seekins matched rings.
I plan on a area 419 or apa brake and hopefully once I sell my 1903a3 I’ll pick up a leupold mk5hd.
I occasionally see a piece of foam on the cheek rest, is that something you guys buy or make?

Very nice rifle.

As to the cheek rest, most of the guys I know who do it are just using foam and 100mph tape or similar. Nothing too fancy. If you’re not having clearance issues with the scope I’m not sure how useful it is other than maybe a softer resting place for cheek. YMMV.

Really nice rifle ! I'm sort of jelly, but we'll see which shoots better, his Bergara or my Tikka CTR.

I put a small adhesive piece on my cheek piece to help when it’s hot. My face would slide around quite a bit on the bare plastic but doesn’t move now.

I bought a cheek pad off Amazon that was designed for the Magpul CTR stock. Made one slice and mounted it. I really like it. Keeps me from sliding around when I'm sweaty.

Took out my hmr pro 6.5 for the first time today. I had loaded up 5-3 shot groups of Berger 140 vld and 5-3 shot groups of 142 smk. For a total of 30 rounds. Range was approximately 90 yards give or take, wind was coming from the west with up to 10 mph gust which made a frustrating time trying to stay steady.

The first 4 rounds I was completely off target so my first two 3 shot groups I have no data on group size but that is ok.
Every group after that was sub .5” With the exception of one that was in the .6”

The best was .018” (pictured below was a 142 smk) granted these are three shot groups but I believe the rifle has a lot of promise.

Took mine out today for the first time.  HMR Pro 6.5 Creedmore.  EGW 20moa base, Vortex .92” rings, Vortex Razor HDII 4.5-27 scope with a Burris scope level, Harris 3-6 bipod, VG65 brake.  100yrd. range at the Aurora Sportsmans Club.  Very windy day.  I think I did pretty good.  Had some great groups and some not so great groups.

With the 20moa rail, I could not adjust it low enough to get the crosshairs on the target at 100.  I had to hold over 22 MOA on the EBR reticle.  Is this a common problem?  Never had a scope on a 20moa rail before.  Anyway, pics or it didn’t happen.

Nice groups guys!

I was talking to a buddy today about the rifle and we were talking about custom actions and companies that make them. I was mentioning the performance of the rifle and how I was having a hard time justifying the cost of anything "better". (obv custom actions, barrels etc are better strictly speaking) relative to the money. If the rifle keeps up the groups I've been getting, I'm pretty sure I can save myself several thousand over a custom rifle. At least for a while.

I probably have 2k through mine in .308. Not all super hot loads, lots of weaksauce work-up loads, some factory, some stupid hot "I'll finish this string, but the next charge is getting pulled" loads.

Clean it about every 300rds. Nothing crazy, just remove the powder fouling and some copper solvent. I believe in the "copper equilibrium" concept.

When the barrel wears out, I'll find a 'smith to work it over and install a higher end barrel. Probably stick with .308. Hell, might just see about having bergara rebarrel it. I can take ½MOA for a $1000 rifle, but getting down to ¼ would be pretty cool. I don't know if it's really worth it in .308 though. One of the 6mm cartridges would be slick.

ETA: I kind of want a 6mm gay tiger just for the look on people's face.

Another awesome day with the hmr pro. Tried out some 5 shot groups and the mirage off the sandy desert range I was at was messing with me bad.

Here’s the best 5 shot group with a 142 smk. Top left could have been me but still very acceptable.
The 140 Berger’s were decent nothing below .3 I loaded up some with .020 jump instead of .010 to see if that helps.

Berger 140s and H4350 have not been the greatest. I tried some RE 16 with them today and most were in the 3s and the best was in the 2s. I will probably just stick to the 142 smk since they shoot better and are cheaper.

Put in my order for a HMR in 300 PRC today.  Maybe someday I will be able to find brass or ammo and actually start to play with it.

Right now I am not planning on spending a fortune outfitting it - will mostly just move stuff over from other guns and/or my spare parts cabinet.  I have a Vortex Razor HD AMG on a spare 6.5 creedmoor that I can move over fairly easily.  I have a thread on Hybrid, a Saker, an Tranquillo that could be used (not sure the best option there, or if I just should try to find a thunder beast - since I don't have ammo yet...).  Will need to order some rail (leaning towards Seekins, as I have a Larue mount already on the scope - but cheaper and easier are not always the best options).

There is a lot of info in the thread - but I don't know if all of it carries over from the 308's and 6.5 Creedmoor's to the PRC.
