7.62 18” Larue PredatOBR with the new Burris Veracity PH 4-20x50 scope which uses ballistic calculation technology. I have a Nightforce scope I could use, but I’m seeing how this works out. A Trijicon RMR is also mounted for quick shots. Attached File

View Quote originally I had that rifle setup exclusively to hunt with, had an Iray Bravo on it and took many predators with it, but aside from that didn't shoot it much. Just recently I gave it its own day time optic, so hopefully I'll be able to get it to the range more often. Though I did pull a scope off another rifle a few months ago and took it to Mifflin County Sports Association (1000yrd range) and shot great at all distances but anywho, the rifle consists of the follow, forgive me if I forget something upper: Gibbz side charger cerakoted sniper grey jp lmos bcg 224valkyrie 18" proof CFW barrel pri handguard with full length rail and custom made bottom arca rail slr adjustable gas block lower: Gibbz cerakoted sniper grey vseven heavy buffer tube jp silent capture buffer Triggertech diamond b5 sopmod stock b5 grip the LPK consists of Vseven components I was partially inspired by mk12 mod o if you couldn't tell I'll grab some better pictures today Attached File |

Originally Posted By dmtsc: What barrel do you have in the rifle on the right? Looks to have an extremely large diameter. How does it shoot and carry? View Quote Both were 18" DPMS Mk12 barrels. Now the .308 has a 20" Krieger and the 5.56 is a 20" Rainier Ultra Match. I don't really notice the extra 2" at all. The old 5.56 barrel found a Magpul handguard, fixed MOE stock, and an MRO, and it handles great after its diet. These two are perfect, though maybe with a little optical overkill. If size is a concern, stick to 16". I do really like 18" barrels and only replaced them for accuracy's sake. The 20" rifles are still just sexier to me, and nice when working up heavy projectile loads for distance. He explains in the 20” thread ^. |

I’ve hemmed and hawed about whether this was a “precision” rifle or not but the 5/8th groups this rifle shoots with 77gr otm makes me think it belongs.
I shot this rifle most all of the season in the IWI gas gun challenge with a 10x pst. Now I installed the 3-15x pst and will try a different division. Before Attached File After Attached File |

Almost a 20yr anniversary for this thread. Really neat to see two decades of precision rifle innovation over all that time. Lots of great rifles and tech in here.

Finally got this thing ready to shoot. Marvin Pitts dimple fluted barrel, and D.Wilson did the barrel conversion. Also, Gibbs Custom Guns did the cerakote on the scope.

Took the budget SPR out to zero today in the rain. Got a bunch of solid 3/4” five shot groups and a few 1/2” groups thrown in. If my experience with USGI triggers over a better lighter trigger tells me anything…this thing should be a pretty consistent 1/2” rifle. Will probably throw an MBT in it but may spring for another SSA-E.

Originally Posted By Three0h8: @stainlineho do you have many rounds through that PSA yet? I’ve been considering the billet version View Quote @Three0h8 I shot it for the first time this morning. I shot 35 rounds. Handloads using Lapua Palma brass, CCI450s, TAC and 175gr SMKs. I didn't get a group under an inch, best was 1.2 MOA. Not really worried about the accuracy right now, just trying to get some rounds on the barrel with cheap powder before I use my Varget. It is promising but final accuracy is yet to be determined. |
