That was more miles than degrees (6' from where I was actually running). Without a breeze at all those temps end up being pretty good as you build up a bit of heat around you. Once the temperature gets into the mid 20s it can actually start feeling a bit warm. |

Well, I’m way behind on this after my ankle sprain on 12/31, but I’m back at it.
1/11 : 3.21/3.12 1/13 : 4/7.12 1/20 : 6.2/18.2 A 10k is not the best reintroduction to hard running after a break like this. Overall it was a disappointing race. All the excuses… ankle still hurts like a bitch, it was freezing. The race was delayed an hour, I was way out of shape. Ice still all over the course casing slipping and sliding all over and points where I had to hop around to try not to fall. I had trained for 10k specifically for 12 weeks leading up to this only to sprain and ankle 3 weeks before and be stuck inside with with snow and ice on the ground for the final week. I tried to cycle to keep the cardio up, but it’s not the same. It ended up being what I’ll call and unofficial PB, but only by 11-17 seconds depending on how you count it. I double tapped the watch as I was crossing the finish line which was apairently not quite 10k. I then meandered around the finish for a couple min before my watch recognize 10k at something like 53:40. Clock time was 52:07 and I crossed the start 5ish seconds after the time started. My legs feel like I’ve never run before. Anyway, onto the next thing. Hope I can hit 1000 this year. |

Hey guys,
I’m going for 1,000+ in 2024. I joined the Strava group as well. Today was just a mile warmup before weights. 1/75 Thanks for doing this! |

First out door run in a wile. It was 8f without windchill, roads covered in snowpack and slush. Good times |

Second day breaking in a new pair of Saucony shoes. They seem to be ok on the treadmill; about 2 oz lighter than my last pair and half the cost. I hope they last.

Treadmill. Ugh. I had started my Garmin Descent G1 in treadmill mode just to see how accurate it tracked. Since I started about a minute in, I knew there would be a variance. After about 5 miles, the discrepancy between the watch and hamster-cage was growing. I slowed to a walk on/off and noted a continued increase in the difference. As I wrapped for the day, a friend called. I forgot to stop the watch. So, an hour later, I just deleted the activity. Maybe I'll remember next time.

I've been on different hotel treadmills lately (plus my own) and they're all different. Mine is slower than the display. Two hotel treadmills lately have been faster than the display, and that one I've used most recently is the only one I've ever seen that's spot on - all of this compared to the foot pods on my shoes, which tend to be very accurate and consistent. |
