Lots of working being done tonight, just finished putting the 2 coats of eastwood rust encapsulator on the rusty passenger floor boards. It's a nice matte black now.

Now on to painting in preparation for re-installing the conduits and electrical wiring.

More to follow

Lots more to do but I ran out of paint.

This eastwood rust neutralizer is dynamite. I'm going to use it in the future. I bought it specifically for the front hull which was very nasty but I will have to redo the rear where the back passenger sits since when the gas tank was removed the fuel was drained and gas eats away at hammerite

Is that the spinning driveshaft going down the middle of the crew compartment?  Looking a lot better.  Got a list of honeydos this week, can't come join you tomorrow.

Nope, it’s the control shaft for the transmission. Since it’s a rear engined vehicle gotta be creative with controlling the vehicle

I’m all out of paint at the moment so no real work to be done. Springs and brakes should be mostly done by the end of the week or Tuesday at the latest

3 more Dodge 3rd gen rims ordered. Should arrive in the next week.

Need to strip them down, prime, paint, and get one more to have enough for a set. I'll get a spare later.

Yes they will be painted blue.

I'll order the tires in september. We will just roll with the plain ancient and horrible tires until then-no high speed runs, nothing over 20MPH, just mostly testing.

So my goal is to have the roland ready in July and 100% ready to go for Gun Stock in September.

New list:

1-Re-wire conduit
1-Install "Deutsch" connectors in the rear
1-Tires - predator x AT 35x10.5r17
1-rims-need wire wheeling, primer and painting
1-finish painting/de-rust treatment
1-Brakes
1-Install hatches/turret/drivers stations
1-seals
1-periscopes
1-change all Fluids front /rear diff, drop box, TC, trans, engine.
2-battery (current battery is 2017, not major enough since I can just yank one out of the BRDM for it)
2-LED lights
2-Armored glass

I’m not a man with a plan, but I plan on driving this one. Events, car shows, and date nights with the wife.

Everything I’ve done is geared towards making it a useable, drivable vehicle.

Regular civilian truck tires. LED lights. Better seals. NVD devices. Better fans. Better battery. Upgraded suspension. Electronics charging package.

I hit burnout a couple months back because it seemed like neither of them would ever hit the road. It was an endless “hey let’s work on the tank” with no progress towards road readiness to ever show. M35ben has put a whole lot of his own time over the years to making the Brdm and Roland run.

But I committed myself to making both of the vehicles run and looks like the Roland will be the first one.

Hopefully it will be at gunstock in September, just need to address the transportation. It’s relatively Light at only 10k though so not hard.

The tool cart is so handy and I love it. I just need to fill it out with tools

These will work great and look good when painted in the Police Blue

3rd rim arrived today. In good shape, little rust, it'll be painted and primed today once I clean it up.

We are getting the Gantry crane today for future engine/trans/turret swaps.

My truck isn't ready so I called on a favor from an old coworker.

One ton. It’ll be enough to lift the turret, engine, or gearbox.

It has 6 seats in total. Driver, commander (turret) and 4 other seats for passengers.

Been modifying the crane to my standards to make it better

Grade 8.8 bolts on everything.

Washers so the support brackets don't bend inwards, just stay straight.

The steel 1/4 a36 plate is coming off amazon, I have to cut the 12x12" plate into two 4.75"x 12" pieces and prime and paint and drill 8 1/2 holes for the bolts to pass through.

This will be rated to carry the 1 ton easily when I'm done with it.

I will probably make a better lowering/raising mechanism for it than the cable and pulley system that's on it now.

Possibly works. It depends. Might be too hot to work during the day but at night might be painting. I have to finish up the rims as far as sanding and keep hammering away at the interior.

It’s one thing for me to do it myself but another for someone to sweat inside the Roland
