It is good to mistrust ourselves, but how would that advantage us were we not to throw all our confidence on God, and to wait on His mercy? From our humanity given to us uniquely through God, we have the ability to wonder.

From that wonder we can begin to contemplate the world around us, its origins and its creator.

And from contemplation brings adoration. For the beauty of this world could not be accidental, but rather a stunning display of aesthetics only the one creator of the universe could make.

From adoration and appreciation of beauty we can find our role as sub creators, who take joy in praising him both by name and by our actions.

I just try to make sure it means something to me each day, whether it's from my own heart or from someone much holier than myself; so long as I don't get sucked into repetition and canned internet prayers.  I figure if that particular prayer was needed by myself that day, I am probably not alone and someone else could use it too.
