Nice, one of those is on my list.

I'm running out of arm, though, and do I really need another diver?

The wonderful vintage Sharkhunter pics here made me throw on my newer one a few days ago.

I love the brand, its style, and it has legit vintage dive watch development and history.
(Although I hate their hands, god I hate their hands.  That goes for you also Tudor and Kon Tiki)

Regardless, overall I like many brands with single items or things I have to overlook.

The dogs are happy I finished some stuff up late Wednesday night and had a four day block of extra time for them.

The Aussie is coming along good at frisbee catch and some other stuff.

They all are too interested in trying to snatch sushi from the pond, be it the bluegill or bigger bass.  The BM/DS is the only one that has caught one.

Retro dog time-
Buddy was a collarless, chinless husky mix, older dog found freezing in a ditch dying with iced on freezing rain.  I suspect a dump of an older persons old dog.  He was pretty much deaf and had weak hips.  He tested out mostly husky with some cattle dog.  Our only dogs at the time were the kids little peekapoo thing and the BM.  He had a great life with us, although less than a year later he woke up from a stroke and couldn’t walk, eat or drink.  I had pegged him for ten to twelve.  Vet rolled their eyes and said- closer to 15 is my guess, if not more.  He loved the farm and other dogs, rides, and warmth.  Days after he died the red hound/GSD mix pup started showing up.

That little black peekapoo thing was the kid’s teddy puppy/toy after our precious big dogs had died.  16 years of happiness to them and the family.  And treated very well by the other dogs that came.

5th legion is probably the only guy here that saw the white GSD mix as a pup/young dog about 34 years ago.
Here he is at about 8 years old with the wife’s collie at around 3 years old around 26 years ago.

I wish dogs were around and running as long as watches, or at least people.

@ramairthree - I remember them well brother! Great dogs. They remind me of our old black lab mix back then “Bear” man, what a dog. He was free range even around town on the relatively busy street we lived on. Street smart, friendly, fiercely loyal. He had this neighborhood route he would secretly do daily to scrounge for treats from neighbors even though he was well fed! They all had funny nicknames for him. It was a magical time back then in the late eighties, early nineties. We didn’t even lock our front door most nights.

The Dial and hands are immaculate and look like
they were made yesterday. The Crystal has a couple of small scratches. Should I keep it original, or have the crystal replaced? Would that effect the value? I found one that is supposed to be made exactly like the original...an exact reproduction is what it is supposed to be. The watch is 100% original and I didn''t know if it mattered if I had the crystal replaced. I would just love to see the perfect beautiful dial I. All of its glory. I like the patina of the bezel and the used look, and have no desire to paint the numbers or anything like that. The watch is in too good of condition (for a 50 year old tool watch) to not keep it original.

It could use a cleaning.

That is a watch I would have mechanically serviced, new gaskets, etc. and leave exactly as is.
I have done that with some vintage watches.

I don’t know where the exact line is, it’s up to you-
Like I’ll end up with one like this and don’t want to touch it.

type Status report

message

description Access to the specified resource has been forbidden.

Apache Tomcat/7.0.68 (Ubuntu)

" target="_blank">

But end up with one like this and say- I have got to get it relumed, restored, etc.

type Status report

message

description Access to the specified resource has been forbidden.

Apache Tomcat/7.0.68 (Ubuntu)

" target="_blank">

Part of the decision is value.
Is it worth it to spend 1K on a watch that is going to be worth 1K?
Part is rarity, collectibility-
Part of it is personal attachment, history with the watch.

The only right answer is what’s right for you.

I like everything about this one I made, except all the bs writing.
Without readers, my eyes can't read it too well, but it fills in an otherwise blah looking dial.

I gave it a lumed date wheel, and bezel insert for a full lume package.

Recent pick-up.  Hamilton is a great value for under $700.  It's a few seconds behind after 3 days.

Cutting grass. I am really loving this inexpensive watch! It is solid, has great lume, and the seconds hand lines up perfectly with the seconds markers. A lot of quartz watches don't line up right.

The blue metal bezel Seamaster was the Omega I fell in love with as a kid.  It's really a good look.  I just picked up the black diver today, but if I see an early 2000's one like yours I'd probably spring for it.  Nice watch.

You absolutely do… mine will likely be up for sale (with original strap - not the stingray). Let me know when you’re in the market.

Nice.  This one confuses me, though.  Doesn't appear to be an original 6105-8110 because it has 200m water resistance. Also doesn't appear to be the recent release, which I have, that has the Prospex logo. Nor does it appear to be the SLA033. Googled to no avail. Specs please ?

I threw it together from Ali Parts from their last sale. Stock case, NH35, Sterile dial that showed up with the logo (Ali !!!!), long second handset, Crown w/no word lock, sterile case back, Sapphire crystal.  Lume on dial is a solid 7, hands are 3.5….lol.  NH35 +25/.6 out of the box. Regulated to around 2+/- / .2.  $1.47 strap.

Keeps good time.  Sealed, not sure how well it would test, but I’m sure it would be ok for swimming (not that I’d swim with it).

I plan on moving movement/dial to Tuna case and swap handset to something ‘odd’.

Accidental new watch day.

Marry well boys, wife and I are on a cruise with family and went by duty free. Looking at Oris watches and while I liked the Zulu GMT she happened to like the bronze Big Crown. Now I do too but was not expecting this.

So I am the new owner of a nice bronze watch and a wife who is going to be getting that new car sooner rather then later I think.

I've been wearing this one daily for a while. My dad won it in a raffle but he only wears a $10 Casio digital, so he gave it to me. It's an automatic with a Seiko nh38 movement. My first automatic ever so I'm getting used to it running a bit fast each day. I asked here and people say +20 seconds a day is normal for this level of auto.

My favorite watch.  On my third one.  Casio Duro.
First one came off my wrist at sea and was lost.
Second one got water in it from showering with it on and not realizing the crown was not screwed down.
Third one is still on my wrist!
