 Waiting on some M1.6x18 screws so I can mount the video transmitter. Also waiting on my 3D printer to finish up the antenna mounts. Once I have everything 100% laid out, I'll start soldering everything else up. For now I just soldered in a 50v 1000uf cap. |

I just finished wiring this new box up. Standards are pretty much non-existent here. The box was an absolute rats nest before I did this. 10 internets if you can figure out how the electrical system works here. And if you can spot the most egregious potential problems.

Bingo!! But they don't really use grommets here for stuff like that. The cable has a built in grommet. It's called shielding. (It makes me crazy too but . . . What are you going to do?) Eta: oh and this is an exterior box. There shouldn't be cables coming through the top at all.

Finally putting together the Revell 1:32 Fw190 kit I bought 20-years-ago when I was last into scale models as a teen. This is the old Revell kit; not the new, and presumably vastly improved kit, as this one had quite a few fitment issues and lacks detail. Experimenting with some preshading techniques and jumped ahead on painting in some areas.
 It's going to be in late-war RLM 81, 82, "84", and 76. |

Sprayed most of the finish on the old 190 this weekend. First time spraying a multi-color/camo finish in 20-years. I think my rustiness shows, unfortunately.
 Vallejo Air RLM 81 & 82 seem a bit light to me. As others have already stated here, getting them to spray smoothly was also a chore. Particularly the 82. A lot more work than the Tamiya colors I used on my recent AFVs.

Reshot and made some progress on the 190 again this weekend. Actually used masking (Silly) putty and got better results. Imagine that.
I'm still not completely satisfied with the brightness of Vallejo's RLM 81 and 82, but oh well. I'll try another brand for the late-war Bf 109G-10 I have in the queue.

This makes me laugh. I decided to start disassembling an expensive brass engine to fix a couple parts that were not soldered well when it came from the factory back around 1980. The previous owner had not even so much as un-taped and unwrapped it from the factory seals.
I did get it all repaired and re-assembled.  this is not my photo, but here it is re-assembled  |

https://www.titanmodelkits.com/store/p1/1:48_B-2A_Spirit.html I'd like to find a die-cast 1:48 scale complete model for the B2 Spirit but, everything I find is 1:200. A 1:48 will be big, approximately 43" across but, that is what I want for a spot in my office. |

My latest ambition is a 1/32 Blue Angels Phantom. This was right after spraying. Had some die-back on the gloss. Having to reshoot a wing tomorrow. I’m decanting paint from a spray can and airbrushing it.
 Once I master the decanted Tamiya TS-15 to airbrush, I have a 1/32 Hornet to build as a BA as well. |

Do you plane guys run gyros or flight controllers or anything ? I do not, one of my Eflite UMX planes has it, I turn it off generally, although it does make the bird more pleasant in wind. Some of the guys will throw some shade at someone flying with a gyro, but I really don't care and if it makes flying less scary and more fun for someone, why not do it? I want people to enjoy flying. It also opens up some designs, especially scale jets which had rough flying characteristics 1:1 and are absolutely rotten as models. If I am not mistaken, most contest rules prohibit aids like gyros. I fly mostly sailplanes, if you need a gyro/fc for one of those either you need to ballast it down because of the wind or it was built or designed wrong. Sailplanes are very stable and every one I have from 0.25m to 2m is very easy to fly. |

I wasn’t a big fan of the next gen T-70 X wing but I liked how they used Ralph Mcquarrie’s concept art to come up with the new version. I like the fuselage but not the staggered wings. So I am modding a Revell snap tite kit the way I think it should look with some more of Ralph’s influence.

Got a set of US tools from Formations waiting to be installed. I've started last year on small super detailing like adding chains and small fittings that crank realism up to 11. This kit will go on the shelf for now while I wait on some much better Tiger Models drive and co-driver hatches that feature raised periscopes. |
