I'm a member of the Bambu P1S AMS family now. Picked it up at Microcenter when my work travels took me near one. Saved on shipping costs and I was able to get a $25 off coupon to use in store.
First impressions are good. I also have a QIDI XPlus3. Bambu was easier to get going, but I really like I can manually adjust the Z offset on the QIDI. First layers look good on the Bambu, but still want manual control if needed. Maybe it's an option I haven't found yet. Bambu printer is louder than the QIDI by a noticeable amount. Bambu printer takes way longer to start a print than the QIDI. The QIDI LED enclosure lights are way better than Bambu. Printing a poop chute as the first functional print using the filament they provided, lol. I saw how much filament it purged and knew there would be a mess behind this printer if I didn't. Then on to filament calibration for non Bambu filament. I'm gonna then test the AMS out with some partial spools of the same filament and see if I can make a decent looking print after it switches. Serviceability wise there's way more room to work in the QIDI. |

just a few replacement parts for the z-axis for my old printer going
thru a major refurb/upgrade effort. The old parts were generation 1 and fit like crap. The new parts are marked rev #3 - and fit well. This was the 4th replacement part I decided to reprint due to improvements with the STL. I just about finished the X & Z axis. Now to work on the electronics and build the new extruder / hot end. |

I a coffee burr grinder ( cheap one ) that grinds into a basket.
I wanted to grind directly into the espresso portafilter so I made this. Attached File still makes a mess, so then I printed a funnel that fits on the portafilter to contain the spray of grounds when it gets to the top of the portafilter. |

The settings are pretty much stock for the filament. All I've done is increased the number of top layers to help keep the red dark since it is fairly translucent. The trick is to change color at a specific layer. Slice your part, then use the slider to find the first layer that you want to be a different color, right click and select change filament then slice again. You can do this multiple times and change colors every layer if you had a reason to. |

Not printed today but recently. I follow a guy from Austria on X who does some amazing art https://twitter.com/PatsoCatso. I thought one of his pieces was fun so I modeled it up then printed a couple of them. These were printed on a combination of my X1 and P1s using mostly 3D Fuel filiment. They have an 8.5 inch wheel base to give you an idea of scale.

x-carriage upgrade part. This is about part #7 that the gen #1 version turned out not
be ready for prime time. Most of the issues are easy to spot before going forward....but I had managed to almost finish the the x-axis area when I spotted that one one the holes to support the wire bundle was plugged. Attached File Time wise, it set me back about 3 hrs of assembly work... I tried to clean the hole with a dremel, but access to that area of the was too limited. I knew that the gen 1 part looked a bit ruff, but I decided not to re-print it with a newer version. Material: PETG, with settings to max out quality / strength....right now the print job is about 85% done and it will be a race to see if the print finishes or I run out of filiment on that spool. The print came out fine and there are about 3 layers of filament left on the spool. |

I was going to run the A1 Mini as well, but it is sitting on my desk at the cabin while the PMini is in an enclosure out of the way. My desk is in our bedroom, so that would pose an issue for sleeping.
Headed home tomorrow anyway, I'll start printing a bunch on the MK3 there. |

Yes also black is known for using carbon for coloring. Coil might get very warm and inductance vary with heat.
