Nothing very big or complicated here.
My sister wanted to know if I could build her a couple of charcuterie serving boards that would hold small dipping/serving dishes.
A pretty easy job for the cnc, I grabbed some walnut and made her one with three spots and one with two...

What model is the cnc?  Did the router come with it or did you have to order a mounting device to hold the router?

If you were to cut those out of lexan to use as router templates, I'd be interested.

@EBR666

This is my first entry into the cnc world.
I would consider the cnc an entry level one, I bought it on Black Friday for $470 (before the mods) - it's a Genmitsu 4040-PRO with a 400mm x 400mm x 78mm work area.

The cnc machine came with a 75-watt spindle which I considered too small for what I wanted, the 75W spindle has a 43mm diameter body but Genmitsu sells clamps for 65mm and 69mm spindles.  Instead of a higher-powered spindle I went with a Harbor Freight Bauer variable speed trim router with a 65mm body diameter, so I bought the $29 clamp to secure it to the Z-axis (the trim router is roughly equivalent to a 1000-watt spindle).  I also bought a solid-state relay that is controlled by the existing spindle power wires enabling the trim router to be powered on and off from G-code commands.

Working on a paying job. 50 coasters with the company name and logo burned into the front. Used pieces of Cedar siding left over from our house build many years ago. Love the Laserpecker laser for making money for the shop! My hands sure do hurt with all the sanding needed to make them glass smooth.
Made a mountain of cedar shavings that I will probably sell to someone for use as little bags to keep bugs away. Used the laser to burn my logo into the back.

she has never sold one, she makes them for her own enjoyment. Tho she has given some away to friends and family.

I would think knowing how much materials ($), time and equipment is used going into one you'd be getting a great deal if you could buy a quality hand made quilt for under $2000.

I was mainly playing with belt settings for speed and seeing what all the different chisels felt like. I have no idea what their different jobs are.

I think i might need to source a jaw chuck thing for it. I seem to have all the other attachments except that one and I think it will be useful.

On my calipers the outside thread on the lathe head looks to be .754"

I am guessing this is going to fit attachments I see advertised as 3/4 16tpi?

Does that sound consistent with vintage craftsman lathes?

I think I need to sharpen all of my chisels...... have to look into that.

Made something for a friend for item #2 on the lathe.

He got elected chairman of a small nonprofit board. Might need a gavel. Have to finish it this weekend. Dont have any good oils on hand.
