Not a damn thing this week. Truck is in the shop and we have nothing but shitty spares available.
Fuggit, I'll take my high dollar PTO and be productive and get shit done this week. Attached File One of my doctors had an opening in their schedule with less than 24 hours' notice. I also got the F-threefiddy's tires rotated today. Amazing what you can do when you aren't working 70 hours |

My favorite non-ladyfriend doctor that I see for treatment. My ladyfriend is an MD, PhD. Oops Ahhh gotcha. My wife is a therapist. Works 20 hours per week to make what I make working 50-60 hours per week. I enjoy my job most of the time, and she doesn’t want to work more than those 20 per week. So it’s all good. But you better believe I remind her often that she could do 35-40 hours per week and I’ll be the best damn stay at home dad there ever was. I ain’t too proud to do it all. I’ll do laundry, grocery shopping, and cook every goddamn day. And still make it to the range twice a week! So for now, there’s no need to rock this currently steady boat. But when she’s ready… |

Then, 14 wheels , 10yd³, 72k. Next, 16 wheels, 11yd³, 78k. Now, 18 wheels, 11yd³, 80k. Granted, a lot of the mixes are higher slump (more fluid) but these guys coming up now can't seem to understand that they need to adjust the drum speed for inclines. So now they have bigger drums, heavier trucks, for the same size load, so they don't spill. And they all know everything, can't tell 'em. So glad I retired. Was that a rant? Get off my lawn! |

Flew to Atlanta yesterday and caught an Uber to Gainesville to pick a tractor up.
Attached File It is replacing this one: Attached File After picking up the truck and filling up at the shithole Pilot in Brazelton, GA I drove down to Greenville, AL (45 minutes south of Montgomery). I got up this morning and drove the remaining 605 miles back to Houston. Easy money. Seven other drivers went up there as well and they picked up complete transports. We now have 24 2024 trucks. These 2024 models are nice. I particularly like the adaptive cruise control. The digital dash, while nice, blacked out two separate times at speed and seemed to reboot. It took 30-45 seconds each time. Attached File |

So when I got back to the yard I found that they installed the new 360-degree camera system (NO driver-facing camera) the company is going to.
Attached File Yeah, this ain't gonna fucking work. I'll have to meet with the safety guy in the morning. |

Am I missing something, and there’s a good reason they didn’t put the camera under the mirror? |

Looks fairly new. How do you like it? @Dboy11 Photos of the new Pete, please? @KC-ROUGHNECK This section might be better for getting info on your tri-axle question. My answer is, it depends. You area, what kind of contract you can get, if you’ll have your own authority, or be leased on, and other factors. If you can give us an idea of what experience you have, and what type of work you have locally, that would be a good start. |

I wasn’t around though. I was out toward Augusta and stayed in a hotel for the night. I used to just do my runs and head home, but we’ve all been advised that we need to color within the lines from here on out. Understandable. I saw a car hauler today. All cars had plates on them. There was duct tape over half the numbers on each plate. What's the reason for the plates being unreadable? |

I guess Im missing how the whole car sale process works.... I would have thought that when you get rid of your car, You would take the plate off.... I understand about covering the plates of fleet vehicles with all the plate readers and I hadn't thought of that so thanks for explaining. |

Rocking the spare truck today, a 2010 W900.
She’s actually a nice ride for being a spare. Cummins ISX pulls nicely. Truck has a smooth ride to it. 966,200 miles on her. Attached File This thing sure has a snout on it! Attached File My truck is in the shop for a rear main seal replacement. They’ll toss a new clutch on there too while it’s all apart. |

The long hood really is the best hood. Even this spare that gets passed around and has 306k more miles on it than mine rides soooo much nicer than my T800. Pulls a little better too with that 15L Cummins vs my 12.7 D60. But I’d never say that on front of my T800 haha. I much prefer the 13 speed on mine though. This 10 speed is shorter on flexibility, and one of the gears is in the wrong place! Ask me how many times I briefly ground the fuck out of “6th” gear this morning. 5th to accidental 7th doesn’t flow. |
