Quoted: You do this shit on purpose.....I now see that you are just an attention whore.. That is the worst ghillie I have ever seen. I've got one that looks worse, from way back in my paintball days. To it's credit, I was actually stepped over in the dark by a player on the other team during a 24 hour scenario game. They were already "out" and walking off the field and one of them stepped over my feet. Must have thought I was a pile of leaves or something. One of my friends was wearing a similar suit (we constructed them at the same time) and was about five feet away. He wasn't spotted either. We were crawling across the field to come up behind some crates where 5 or 6 of the other team's guys were facing away from us. The game producers would launch a flare every few minutes, and we'd have to bury our faces in the dirt so our goggles wouldn't throw a reflection, then wait for the flare to burn out and crawl as fast as we could before the next flare went up. We got to within about 40 feet of them and rose up and shot them all out. To hear them cussing and their complete surprise was priceless. In any case, I'd like to get a real ghillie suit one day, just for shits and giggles. The ones we made were pretty bulky. We found a bug piece of camo burlap at walmart that was supposed to be used for a duck blind. Cut it into strips, and hot melt glued the strips to camo jeans we found on clearance. Went back over the glue with matte grey spray paint to cover the glue since it was shiny. Still, in the day you blend into the Louisiana brush very well, and at night you're impossible to spot. I doubt my fat gut would even fit in it anymore. |

Retracted.

Paintball clothing and equipment (for pro players) is actually designed to shed as many impacts as possible. The rules are simple, hits only count if they break. The gear manufacturers make the clothes and accessories to prevent breaks, and the paint manufacturers make the shells as brittle as possible while still being tough enough not to break inside the gun. |

I know a thing or 3 about making ghillie suits. And that is the worst ghillie suit fail I have ever witnessed.
Seriously.... It sucks. |

My Urban Ghillie suit. (A work in progress) Locally gathered materials: Cardboard boxes with Random Tactical Chewing gum pattern and feces stripes. Rat Musk (To counterbalance scent of feces) Newspaper (Multipurpose) Torn Plastic bags (%25 Waterproof!) Partial Shopping cart (Added mobility in place of stealth) Rotten food from dumpster (Allows extended placement in the field) http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_D0kHHz-A8mE/SXwZHxQiSFI/AAAAAAAAADI/SuCg8ta2qOs/s400/new-york-homeless.jpg Get the fuck out of my house!! |

I am not one to critique but man, that is.........ugh.........bad.
The point is to blend in with your surroundings. I will post some pics when I get home if I can get a hold of some photos (live in big city where it is pointless to have and takes up smelly room so I keep in the 'rents house out in the country where I grew up). Just offhand, too much burlap and strips are too thick. |

I can't accept that answer. When I worked at a field, if we knew a piece of clothing or gear would prevent breaks, we wouldn't even allow it in open play, let alone tourney play. There were a quite a few players that would try to get away with foam covers on barrels and tanks. Protective armor and gloves for paintball have hard plastic panels on them to prevent bounces. I can understand an insulative cover on a co2 tank, but these guys were running compressed air. One of the reasons why long sleeve jerseys and full length pants are required is because there used to be a team who would coat thier arms and legs with vaseline, so if a ball did break on them, they could wipe it off easily. |

The file name and copyright markings suggest that there isn't anything there. (If there is, I'd already be dead.) Nice try, though, hehe. -Ed |
