The A-Team made me want a Mini-14, but when I got one I learned why no one ever got shot on that show.

I always get a little laugh when people say this, considering how well they worked out in the movie.

I was int he market for an HK at the time and couldnt figure out which one I wanted...then I saw collateral and boom..knew I had to have a USPF .45

Otherwise the only thing I wanted was after watching the original ghost int he shell anime and saw a Mateba. And I swear it or be damned but I will own one!

Tons of influence, but I will also usually do some reading to back up my purchases.

For example I wanted an AR for the longest time after SWAT and Earthquake, but Cooper told me they were poodle shooters so I had to wait for Bill Clinton to ban them before I bought my SP1.

Han Gruber's P7? Sexy, but I read up on it and liked it even more and today it is my CCW.

Big miscue? The pre-ban Mini-14 I bought for a premium and sold down the road.

I know, but I think part of it is because Muldoon just looks like a bad ass at the beginning, and also how he works the stock so delicately and intricately just before he dies...

Bah! Terminator needs no stock!

Yeah, the way Muldoon died in the movie pissed me off. Especially since in the novel he kicked ass and survived, IIRC

M16/AR15 from the original S.W.A.T. t.v. show.

I had a toy M16 when I was about 6 and have loved the platform ever since.

And, the 1911 from Magnum P.I.––of course.

I bought this after watching Enemy at The Gates

I bought this solely because of Army of Darkness

And I built this after longing for one from a combination of Dawn of The Dead and Platoon.

Cant say that it has.
Ive only got one firearm that was on my "wish list" stemming from influence and that is my MAK-90. I saw it on the cover of the game "Red Faction II" and instantly wanted it.
Everything else has been bought purley on function.

I started jonesing for an AR after a movie, but I don't remember which one.  Guy was wearing a suit, pulled it out of his trunk or something and went to town while being all careful not to get dirty.  Was a cool contradiction of sorts.

I don't know why that stuck with me.  Wish I could remember what show that was.

Glock, not a sissy pistol. /US Marshals

Kinda me too.  But my parents always had Glocks, and it sorta set me down the path.

Ya, they misidentified it as an SP2340 (which is what I have) at IMDB.com.  Bet you won't find an SP2340 in Zurich, though.  The original 2009/2340's had Swiss frames, not German.
