I doubt it's based on anything other than something seen in an anime flick as shooting a real 12 gauge shell with that would be impossible more than once (with the same hand)

Someone HAS made a 12 gauge derringer single shot, made for an AWESOME backup piece. I haven't seen that article in a few months, but it was from like the 80's. Naturally, the whole NFA AOW kinda killed it, but I still totally want one.

I've never been able to understand why Airsoft is so popular. You wanna play dress up and shoot at people, why not paintball? I'm not saying someone shouldn't do it if they want, just that I have never seen the appeal.

It is also good if you want to shoot at someone in a location that can't take paint all over the place. Still need to be careful where you shoot, but opens up a lot of different spots to go.
