I don't post here too often, but I've noticed that some people here seem interested in old soviet and eastern European guns and history. So here are some pics of my trip to Chernobyl from this past spring. It was a pretty cool experience. I've also put these up on bodybuilding.com if some of you post over there too.

Did you go into the grade school library?  That was probably my favorite part.  That, followed by the swimming pool and then the hotel.

What group did you go with?  I hear the government is officially sponsoring trips now, or something like that.

Yup, liquidators. We didn't go to the vehicle "grave yard" as they call it. Some tourists got sick from the radiation walking through there so it's off-limits now.

On a semi-related note, it would appear that the makers of Call of Duty:Modern Warfare really did their homework when they designed the game.

I went with these guys - you might like the website (maybe you saw their none-too subtle sign tagging the old train station shelter as well).

You aren't supposed to be picking up and flipping though books, but most are all knocked on the floor and opened to some degree anyway.

One day won't hurt you - they have workers out there in some places for weeks or more at a time, they do some sort of rotation.

Pretty cool! I've never been there before. I remember the tour guide telling us the train station is coming up and thinking "this will be good". Pretty bad excuse for a train station. I wish I could have gotten a picture of that large soviet radar array on the way out of the exclusion zone but my SD card was full

Thanks for posting.  I've always wanted to visit Pripyat.  Did you travel to the area specifically to see Pripyat, or was it a side trip?

Hey, that can't be Kopachi.  Where are all the zombies?

How did they take those pictures of the Consumer Centre at the Kurchatov street without being eaten by the mutant burer?
