Well besides my ar15, I took a few friends out to my favorite shooting spot. We got our friend from work to shoot an AR15 for the first time, she did really well!! I also convinced my other friend in the picture to buy an ar15 instead of an AK47 so it was his first time shooting that. Meanwhile I was just fine tuning the ACOG on my rifle . Nothing more satisfying than introducing people to the world of AR15's. Also, I should add that both these people are my bosses, it was fun to do the instructing for once.

Note: I wasn't shooting in this one, just watching where his bullets were hitting so he could sight in.

Same deal, just looking to see where his shots were impacting.

She probably won't be happy that I posted this one. Pre-fire briefing!

Not bad form

Even a smile

She was so ambitious that she decided to try some trap shooting too! Not my gig, so my friend took over.

My other boss giving my ar a whirl:

Anyone else taken people shooting recently??

And my rifle:

BCM 14.5 pinned upper
Spikes Lower with Geiselle SSA
TA31H
TROY rear sight
Magpul furnishings with a large FUG.

I took my two sons shooting again today. They learn more and more each trip. My 11 year-old is improving at a steady rate. The 8 year-old is hit or miss (pardon the pun) with his ability from one range trip to the next.

8 year-old, prone, 50 yards

11 year-old, seated, 75 yards

Awesome! I wish I had been introduced to rifles at that age.

I've been shooting since about 8 years old when I began hunting with Dad. They don't enjoy hunting yet, but they love going to the range.

They even dig reloading mags and the cleaning ritual at home...guess I'm lucky! All I have to do is supervise!

Yeah, finding the age where kids are able to respect firearms and safely handle them isn't always the easiest thing in the world.

i seem to take "first timers" every time i go. for whatever reason, i'm a big gun nut but my friends are not. it's pretty funny taking some of my chicago buddies (where most guns are illegal ) out and seeing the transformation from a yankee to having a bit of texas in them.

Ha,  I didnt realize that appeared that way. That is the swing away tailgate on his jeep in the picture. We were moving up every 100 yds to build a dope card for his new gun. Was in and out of the jeep quite a bit.

My 8 year old out squirrel/Hog hunting. He tracked an 1.2 mile azimuth to the lake off trail, and hit all his landmarks on the trip out. He's a great kid.

took my wife a few months ago and she wasn't really all that into a "range trip"
so we shot golf balls and stuff
pretty soon little miss ultra competitive was hollering and yelling encouraging stuff like
"IN YOUR FACE!" "DID YOU SEE THAT" and "oooohhh you missed" "are you sure you can shoot"
she had a blast
except for that really long walk home...

I took my oldest daughter (12 years old) to the range the other weekend so she could shoot her pink 10/22.  I was shooting my Kimber Ultra Aegiss II (9mm) and she asked if she could try it.  It was her first time shooting anything other than her 10/22.  She did great and really enjoyed it, and told me afterwards she liked shooting the pistol better than her rifle.  Now she wants to try shooting one of my rifles (AR or AK).

Took the wife shooting, she loves the 1911 .45.

Wasn't a fan of the AR, but I have an ACOG and a heavy buffer now instead of the burris, taking her again next month, I'm sure she'll like it more.
