Those of you who did not live it:
You want to try to figure out the 1970s? Start by renting (or downloading) the following films and "TV" shows: -Dirty Harry (Clint Eastwood) -Deathwish (Charles Bronson) -Dukes of Hazard (especially if you live in the South - it speaks vollumes about the left's view of you. Unless you are Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter, Hollywood thinks you MUST be an ignorant racist) -Good Times -Welcome back Cotter -Alice And for laughs back then we watched "The Love Boat" followed by "Lantasy Island" (fairly sure the little guy made a lot of money and then blew his brains out anyway). |

Teen age girls did not have fat on them in the 70's. They would blow you away in a bikini. Flat stomachs. I went to the pool a few years ago with my teen age daughter. I couldn't believe how many girls 16-18 year old girls had guts on them. They shouldn't have been in bikinis but they were. Yes they were thin and "working out" was a fairly new concept, jazzercise was new, as well as aerobics. So virtually no working out and great bodies, it was a good thing. |

Go on YouTube and look for "Cal Jam" videos or any other big rock concerts or festivals from that era.
You'll see lots of slim nubile chicks in bikini and tube tops and dudes with their shirts off and none of them are fat. You'll have to make a concerted effort to find a fat person. |

God I loved the 70s. I was 21 when the decade ended so it was the time of my youth. Spent it divided between Africa and Georgia. I thought in some ways things were a lot more open then. Clothes for men SUCKED...at least in the US. I did think the 70s show on TV nailed it pretty good.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug. That's the only way I can understand how people thought those colors were pleasing and that disco was good. I remember hearing an interview with George Lucas once where he said they came pretty close to using disco music for the soundtrack for Star Wars. Apparently the movie executives were pushing it pretty hard but Lucas fought the idea. |

Everyone is ripping on the earth tones.
Didn't burt orange and burnt red make a come-back a few years ago in decorating? Hell, I kinda like earth tones-- just not on my car. While, I was only 9 years old when the 70's ended, I miss them. But the 80's didn't suck either, despite what many would say. |
