I have written my Senators and my Congressman.  I'm sure that I will hear back from Tim Scott once he has a chance to get his feet on the ground.

This is what I got back from Lindsay Graham, after writing to him specifically about gun rights.  I think it is weak.

Thank you for taking the time to contact me. I appreciate the opportunity to hear from you.

In spite of the high volume of mail I receive daily, I look forward to reviewing your correspondence and providing a personal response as soon as possible.

As we continue our work in the 112th Congress, I look forward to supporting our troops in the War on Terror, repairing our economy and creating jobs, strengthening Social Security, lowering the tax burden on American families, and making the federal government more accountable and efficient.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of further assistance to you or your family, and if you need immediate assistance, please call my office at 202-224-5972. If your correspondence pertains to a scheduling request, please fax your request to (202) 224-3808.

Sincerely,

Lindsey Graham

His form letter hasn't been updated, obviously.

He's a Quisling that's seeing which way the wind is blowing before making a policy statement.

You do realize that letter came from someone about three levels below Graham.  If it came from him, and you signed it with a male first name he'd have put a PS in asking to meet you at Starbucks.  He's so light in the loafers, the soles on his shoes never wear out.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) pledged Sunday to oppose legislation to reinstate the federal assault weapons ban.

"I think the assault weapons ban didn't work then. It's not going to work now, and I will oppose it," Graham said on "Fox News Sunday."

Graham said the last assault weapons ban, which lasted for ten years, was ineffective.

"Well, we had the assault weapons ban from 1994 to 2004 and the conclusion was, it did not change crime by banning assault weapons in an appreciable way, and last year with the lowest murder rate in the history of the United States, people buying more guns, murder rates have gone down -- you are talking about preventing mass murder by mentally unstable persons," Graham said.

"I own an AR-15 and I have done nothing wrong by owning the gun. If you had armed security, with better rules of engagement, that, to me, is a better way to deal with the situation," Graham said. "And the best way is to identify these people before they act and do something about it."

He sounded solid on the AWB but I think he may have hinted to being open to restricting Normal Cap Mags. I could be wrong though so don't take this as fact.

He's not going to let anything affect the AR15 in any way. Not only because he owns and shoots them, but because his district has a ton of money coming in from sales of all things related to them. Palmetto State Armory has two in his district, plus there are a few other real big money makers other than that, and not to mention FN and their employees too. FN does a lot of civilian manufacturing in addition to their military stuff, and supplies PSA with a good bit of stuff. There's a of tax money there.

Almost  one in every four households I know has at least one AR15 now as well. AR shooters make a huge chunk of his voting block, and he's aware of it.

That's the same email I received.  Despite the weak nature of the letter, he hasn't publicly minced words on the issue, as pointed out above

Notice how he is on-board with a ban if it impacts crime.  He is no friend of the 2nd Amendment.
