Very interesting
I'd love to do something like that, but I think it would prove too difficult and too expensive |

Would that alloy hold up at 3000-3200 FPS? I bet that'd be killer in a 300WM View Quote Yes. It's very similar to the Hornady .50 cal AMAX. I loaded thousands of them at Barrett. I asked Hornady about a rebated boat tail when we were doing suppressor work. They wouldn't do it.. We had to get solid copper bullets turned on a cnc lathe. |

I know all that ive sent out for testing all of the users have been more than happy. for me its an extra step and a second die. |

I'd guess it's .75 G1, based on nose profile and boattail. Maybe lower. That is a kinda blunt nose. |

Perhaps I should learn more before I comment on things like this. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Ill give him a call tomorrow and check my source. ya big diffrence between .729 via the java and Corbins design program spitting out the .9664 value. BUT it is a ULD design so its possible. FYI im playing with a 14-caliber secant with .014-inch offset from tangent. so its hella pointy. the point is a blunt .021 dia. |

I can't see the point of that bullet. Heavy bullets are intended for sub sonic loads, low drag bullets don't really make sense for sub sonic loads. its the get both thing.. also which flies farther? a brick or a football shaped brick? Depends if it's thrown from a treadmill. |

Any chance of you ever experimenting with a .311-.312" version, say about 175-180gr rebated boat-tail?
Just curious. ETA: Yes, basically a Mk.7 .303 bullet, I know. |

So it didn't open up? I assume having the CG so far back aided the tumbling... No doubt it's lethal... The question... how do you make a bullet essentially detonate on impact at low velocity?

Now that we know for sure the al tip is pointless, you can leave it off.

.9664 WOW!!!! The 215 gr Berger vdl has a .631 the 200 gr hybrid has a .624. I shoot these out of my .300 wm. When you are ready to sell your bullets I will take 200 please.

What part of OR are you in? I'm curious how you make such awesome things.
My employer obtained a Type 10 FFL in September, but they won't let me touch it at all until the new year. It's crazy, our tech department (which handles the FFL) is balls deep in phone calls, and every machinist is sitting around idle on the later half of the week. I just want to make some cool stuff like you. |
