The series was the best. I never did care for Christopher Lambert in the movies. Adrian Paul was MUCH better for the role. Most of the soundtracks are done by Queen. In fact their album titled "its a kind of magic" has the highlander songs on it. "Who wants to live forever" is a BADASS song btw.

Queen got an early screening of the movie and they wrote all the songs for it after seeing it. A Kind Of Magic is basically the soundtrack with a few extra songs.

Clancy Brown is a great actor for the bad guy or hard case. Earth 2 was good for this character.

One more nod to the TV series.  You have to pretend the end of the movie never happened, but after that, enjoy the ride.  It was one of the few TV series that actually got better over time.  Though, I seem to remember the very last season kind of sucked.

LOL dont feel bad, Ive got Duncans sword in the safe. Not a cheesy chinese or taiwan knockoff, but one made by the same people who made the one he used in the series. Its been so long ago now that I cant remember who made it though.

There is no second movie. One film, then a tv series. That's IT.

That is Juan Sanchez Villalobos Ramirez, chief metallurgist to the king of Spain.

So basically you have a Scot playing an Egyptian who married a Japanese woman and who works for the king of Spain.

Or at least I think I have that correct.

And Christopher Lambert is an American raised in Switzerland French man playing a Scot.

FIFY

Yeah, I just read the wiki page.  Lambert's father was a diplomat at the UN.  I did not know that.

It's such a shame the second one sucked so bad.

Hate to say it, but Adrian Paul was 10x better than Chris Lambert.

And stop watching Highlander movies here.

This man is 100% correct.  They should have taken their own advice and applied it to the number of Highlander movies made....."There can be only one".

Do you seriously own that prop????

The idea of a two part sword is retarded - but I still love that film. The TV show was decent too. And Queen!!!

The first movie was cool for the time; the rest of the movies aren't watchable.

The TV show was better with AP; a lot of great guest stars + Queen.

However; as typical of most long running TV shows the last season was not up to par.

Anyway after they killed Richie off it kind of diminished the remaining episodes for me.

I haven't watched the TV series since it was originally on; not sure how it holds up?

It was a good time. Your forgot to mention the 80's music.

Highlander was a good flick. enjoyed the TV series, too.

Never watched the show, but just noticed it's on Netflix.
I think I'll have to give it a shot.

Just watch 1-5.  Six is really a waste of time.  There might have been a few decent episodes, but I don't remember any.  After season 5, it should have ended.  That season was incredible, but only worked in conjunction with 1-4.  It remains probably some of the best TV fantasy writing ever, never talking down to the audience.

Upon using google to jog the old memory, it turns out there were two episodes in season 6 that closed out the season 5 story arc.  After that, it was filler.

No sweat.  Google also tells me that apparently the plane was to end it with season 5, but the producers pushed for an extra season even as some of the actors had taken other jobs.  So, it looks like they stretched the final story for the last few episodes, then just really did come up with filler.  That explains a lot.

I love a good series that actually begins and ends with good story-telling - this was one of the better ones for US TV in that regard.
