Admittedly, I have not listened to "music" in years, but it appears that rap has gone from this

and this

to this?!?

Rap music used to be about money, 40s, weed, and hoes.  Now it's about dongs and coming out of the closet???

I know most on this board couldn't care less, but it's another sign of the pussification of America.

I'm pretty sure Macklemore isn't even gay.  Although I do admire his rise to fame and how his music is a complete 180 from every other rapper out there (which is probably a positive thing if you pay attention to everything else that is popular in rap).  At least he isn't pretending to be something he isn't like every other gangster rapper.

I think Macklemore is a pretty funny guy.

On a side note, once upon a time rap used to be about flows and story tellin'.  Now for the most part it's all ego - how many bitches they fucked, how much money they got.  All shit.

He's an uber-liberal douchebag of the highest order.

I think it's funny that he is the new hot thing in rap. That genre has always been a joke and he is the punchline.

1."Rap" and "hip hop" are slightly different genres with some overlap. "Gangsta Rap" died out in the 90's for the most part.

2. Macklemore is more hip hop than rap.

3. Macklemore is straight and engaged to his long time gf

4. Don't like it don't listen.

How does 1 song on his album about equality turn into his entire album being about dongs and coming out?

Did you happen to find something you liked and fixate on it?

If this is the most disturbing thing in your life I'd say you've got it pretty good.

Real rappers spit about misplaced pending gun legislation due to gang on gang violence restricting legal gun owners and the effect on 2nd amendment rights.
Bear in mind this song came out in 1992.

As shitty as Macklemore is and as much as I hate his music, I'd take his social justice warrior garbage over traditional rap themes any day of the week.

I don't mind his "accept gays" message, but I hate, hate, HATE the preachy tone of that bullshit song.

Ya EBAH was pretty damn bad.  B.I.T.C.H. is off of Something Else though.  I've been into the other people on his label lately.  Mainly ¡MAYDAY! they put out some great albums.
