Les Baer makes this
Your best bet is an STI Range Master or Target Master 6".
Both come in 9mm and 45 ACP variants. |
You can order a long slide from Caspian in whatever configuration you want.
AMT is junk. If you want a longslide, have one built. ETA......I have a 10mm longslide. |
In all fairness, available longslides all tend to be 6", the AMT was a 7". It's amazing how with their piss poor reputation AMT guns still bring over $700 on gunbroker.
They go for premium now if you can find them but I was thought the Springfield V-10'a are pretty badass
Outside of the movies I always thought these were some of the ugliest 45's made...
I like the standard slide and the Commander length myself. |

Then again, I have never shot one. |
I have a Springfield and an EAA Hunter. Both longslides. The hunter is 10mm.

An AMT Harballer with a Terminator replica super-old-school 1980s laser (albeit with modern tech inside) would be pretty bad-ass.

I haven't got anything from them yet, but I dealt one of their gunsmiths before he went to work for them. Given their ties to Dan Wesson I'd have to be convinced either way about them. But my current gunsmith does buy some of their parts for his custom builds and he's been happy with the quality on their 6" slides and barrels, so it is something positive to say about them. Of course, I'm still desirous of an AMT Long Slide just for the nostalgia factor. I've always heard that if they're lubed properly the galling problems they're infamous for do not occur, so I'm willing to try adding one to my collection. |

View Quote I can't say anything experience based on the Longslide but I had a basic Government Model from when Galena Industries owned AMT. The only malfunctions I had were ammo related(cheap bulk Cabelas reloads-$40 for 300 at the time) or magazine related-I couldn't resist a 15 round stick mag, and it never did feed more than 5 at a time. GI or Mec-Gar mags, mo problem at all. A friend of mine has an Irwindale AMT government model, and his friend has a Covina. Those two work well too. Cheaply made, yes, but neither of them have a complaint. I don't think the absolute shit reputation is deserved, but I'm not willing to spend $700+ like they tend to bring on gunbroker. I missed a longslide locally for $450 a few years ago. That, I might pay. |

I had them make this for me a few years ago and it's a top notch gun. |

View Quote Is that a factory pistol, or custom? I hate trying to find specific models of guns from companies like Rock Island and Tanfoglio. They always seem to have pics of some cool variations, but no way to find out how to order them. |

RRA doesn't do 1911s anymore, but I threw it in here anyway. |

Not RIA, RRA. Rock River Arms stopped making 1911s years ago so they could keep up with the AR demand. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I remember them getting really good reviews when they were making them. They were outta my price range though. |
