Expectations are for a Q2 of +3%.
Q1 showed -2.9%, which was blamed on the Polar Vortex/Shermans March II. |

Well I sure as hell did my part to help the economy during Q2 so it's not my fault.

The White House won't care so long as their brand of "progress" continues.
|
|
They'll either be totally fabricated and hailed as a sign of great success, or they'll release the true numbers and everyone will panic and head to the Fo Bunker.
I'm holding out for option 2. Already got a huge supply of toilet paper and a case of whiskey.. So I should be good |

What ever they are, the number will be revised downward a month later when no-one is watching.

Hey, we're in the Summer of Recovery VI, so you know it's gonna be just peachy

I think Q1 was revised lower in order to be able to call Q2 positive.
Hell, they might revise Q1 to -4% and call Q2 +0.1% to avoid a recession. http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/news_release_sort_national.htm 8:30 am |

I don't trust the friggin government on anything. They will lie to suit their purposes. We saw that with the unemployment figures around the election and the number of people signing up for Obamacare. Hell, the bastards will even lie about the number of veterans receiving medical treatment.

Completely manipulated to not look as bad as they actually are.

The real question isn't what tomorrow's numbers will look like tomorrow. It's what tomorrow's numbers will look like a few months from now.

When will this great news of obama's economic recovery be released?
ETA: 4%? Boom times! |

I guess I'll be the lone voice of dissent.
American exceptionalism is bigger than some tinpot president or his policies. We still value individual excellence around my parts. Fuck Obama, but we know how to win in any circumstance. |

The number is meaningless...all it does is cause the markets to jump if it is good news and to sell if it is bad. They will revise it in 3 months anyway, just like the always do. The real numbers to watch are the unemployment rate and the "stopped looking for work" rate, i.e. the real unemployment number.

If they were just going to fake numbers, why would there have even been such terrible Q1 numbers to start with? |
