Use Krylon. It comes off if you want and if it gets scratched...just touch it up.

I would agree with it more if the paint didn't start to come off in huge chips all over the gun immediately.   Most pics seem to indicate this happens as soon as you touch it after painting it.

Careful about doing the top half of your mags though it might make them stick a bit in the magwell.

Yeah.  Been browsing that.  Kinda makes me want to paint one since all of mine are black.

What is the best way to block out your optic lenses aside from butler creek flip ups?

Supposedly Brownells alumahyde 2 is more durable than krylon for a rattle can paint job.  Anyone used it?

Tape and a X-acto knife/blade thingy, and maybe some degreaser is about all I use to prep with that I can remember off the top of my head.
I just tape off the areas I don't want painted and clean them up with the Xacto knife. Prepping the gun takes longer than the painting does.

I like the Camo paint jobs or maybe even a Desert Tan color.

I agree with Krylon .... easy on .... easy off.

I saw a guy who painted one glass black, and the flash suppressor like fluorescent orange.

He took it out to show a Sheriff's Deputy and the deputy said  " that's one realistic airsoft gun ".

Deputy learned a good lesson that day.

I have cans with all the appropriate colors.  I figure if the S ever HTF, I can paint to match the current season. After all, it dries in a few minutes.

In the meanwhile, I'll keep it like it came.

I do kinda have a hardon for the the Rhodesian FAL colors.  Good thing I have an FAL, too.

Thanks.  Thinking about doing a fall woods camp look for deer season this year.  Gonna take my SBR to hunting camp with my fudd relatives.  They may think it less evil if it is camo'd.

Cerakote is the only way to go, have a professional do it. If you're not very particular about your guns, Brownells sells a do it yourself kit.
