I can't believe people actually do these things to firearms.  The lever action with the see through sights is the worst. Dumbasses.

Working on this one right now.  This started life as a Winchester Model of 1917.  I believe this is a professional Bubba job from the 60's as I've seen quite a few like it.  It was a gift from a friend.  It was very rusty.  Still has the Johnson barrel.

I understand that these actions are bank vault strong and the basis of some really ungodly powerful rifles.

Maybe its just me but I think I see a sear pin in that one...

I believe that's an old school SSK carry handle conversion. Way back when it was pretty much impossible to find a flat top, so SSK cut off a portion of the carry handle, leaving the rear sight and adding a section of rail. However, SSK did it for the purpose of mounting an UltraDot RDS, not a huge scope.

Although somewhat crude looking, it gives you solid factory iron sights with a lower third cowitness through the UltraDot. The UltraDot was a very strong but lightweight sight for the time. SSK said it was one of the few that would hold up on their "hand cannons."

Take off that jumbo scope, put on the sight that's supposed to be there and you still have a handy little package. When I showed up with my FA shorty set up like that in the 1990's I got a lot of WTF. Remember, this was before the RDS revolution. However, once people learned to place the red dot on the target and hit the go peddle they came around.

I still have that upper with a M4 bbl

How are you supposed to use that VFG? I bet that scope gets quite a bit of powder residue on it.

Apparently HK really hates us.  A semi-auto HK21K?  Why no collapsing stock?

This thing may work as a single shot, but as the entire gas system is gone.  It sure wouldn't cycle as an autoloader.

Was thinking the same thing...

At first I thought not for me, but I appreciate the work that went into putting scary images in the stock.

Then I noticed the base of these things are fucking sharpened!

Good thing that part of the rifle doesn't get near your face or neck when in use.....

Cutting the carry handle and welding the rail on was the old school flat top. THere were no flat tops back then, so mounting a lower scope required cutting the handle. Leaving the iron sights allowed back up irons.

Totally tacticool circa 1987

I've got one whose second life is as a .375 H&H. Gorgeous wood with lots of hand cut checkering. Also a custom job from the 60's I think.
