I got the Rambo trilogy for Christmas, not something i woulda picked out for myself but i kinda like them. As far as Stallone goes, its hypocritical to criticize those who buy his movies if you are going to line every other liberal in hollywoods pockets. I make no distinction between him and the rest.

I saw 1, never 2 or 3. I was looking for something to watch tonight, they were all 10 bucks, so I figured fuck it.

Man, I can't believe I'm getting my balls busted over this one!

I only liked the first one, so I picked that up for $15.00.

Yeah, the knife in Rambo3 is like almost as long as his leg.

That "First Blood" knife was made by Jimmy Lile.  They're quite a collector's item.  The LILE ones not those chicom knockoffs.

He also made the part II knife but I dunno how much those go for.

III was made by Gil Hibben I believe.

There are two types of hollywood liberals - basically harmless idiots who have no iea what they are saying, and say it because they think it sounds good. Then there are the types that actively support the people who wish to take away our rights, and speak out directly against the 2nd amendment. Stallone's in the latter camp. There was a thread about him a week or so ago in GD. He had a clinton fundraiser at his hollywood house (where he has a private shooting range) and also said guns should be rounded up by collecting door to door.

Besides, Rambo 2 & 3 Sucked.

The new movie with Benicio Del Toro looks like a remake of First Blood.  Special forces guy, hunted in some cold rainy forest.

They are remaking First Blood. Hope it's like the book, Rambo and the Sheriff both die. He's also about to start on Rambo 4, oh goodie.

I got all 3 too.  I like to watch them on occassion.  Nothing like watching an American Soldier kick ass against all odds.

Boy, I'm glad we got rid of cable and broadcast TV in our house...... Hollywood is not in charge of my amusement- I am.

Well, MarineGrunt, I won't bust your hump for watching movies.  It's important to remember that they are "entertainment" and not reality.  I like the Rambo series because they are entertaining.  But it is not history.

A great book, "Stolen Valor", talks about how the average sheeple thinks all Viet vets are like Rambo, i.e., quite, disturbed, loners that are killing machines.  He points out that the vast majority are just average Joes that came home, had families, and worked for a living.

But who wouldn't like a movie where he says stuff like" I'm your worst nightmare" and "I'm coming for you!"  Great stuff.

On another note, you can get great movies cheap on a site called Half.com where you buy from individuals and they mail them to your home.  I buy most of them for less than I can rent them and I then have a permanent copy.  Try it.

I loved those movies as a kid.  Bought the trilogy a few weeks back and watched all of First Blood and part of the second movie.

The second and third movies are so insulting to a 4th graders intelligence as to be unwatchable, and the whole series did a tremendous disservice to all viet nam vets, as well as the spec ops community.

Not only does Stallone suck, but the Rambo scripts were really bad.  They should have been used to wipe asses, not to make movies.
