How much water do you add to whole milk to make 2 percent?

I seem to be going through an awful lot of milk

Can I save any money this way or should I just buy a dairy cow

Add an addition 61% water by weight to the milk.

The thing is your not just cutting the fat but nutrients as well.

To get the fat content to 2% it would be five pints of water.

98 parts water and 2 parts milk

It's not done by diluting the milk but by removing fat.  As previously mentioned, dilution would change the percentage of other 'stuff' in the milk as well.

No. They spin the direct from cow juice into skim milk and cream then add cream back to the skim milk to make 1%, 2%, whole, half/half, ect.

At least that's how it was explained on "How it's made"

No, they skim the fat off.. hence, "skim milk".

That IS how they do it. Just adding water would dilute the milk solids, etc.

A better analogy would be how much water to add to Cognac  to make wine?

I go through a gallon pretty much every other day or so.  Walgreens will have milk on sale every other week or so. When it goes on sale stock up.

I see you're drinking 2%.  Is that 'cause you think you 're fat?  'Cause, you're not.  You could be drinking whole, if you wanted to.

All milk today is processed to remove all the fat. Then to make 2% they just add enough fat back to it.

Just use a 2% cow.

Because cows need nutrition too.  Everything in milk can be found in normal people food

So we aren't "meant" to drink it even though it is nutritious? What are we "meant" to consume then? Cheetos?

Launch yourself a Cessna from the nearest
treadmill , and fly to a farm . Ask the farmer how
much water he uses.

Add sugar as well, it's not much better than drinking soda imo, other than some protein and vitamin D. All I use is a little heavy cream in my coffee to avoid all of the carbs.

Whole milk is 3.25% fat, so I guess you could do math to figure what dilution to bring it to 2%, but it wouldn't be the same as 2% milk.
