the guy that shot chris ,what was his reasoning?.it just makes me wonder about if he wasn't in his right mind,how come hes got it together enough to ask for a change of venue because he says he cant get a fair trial in texas because of the movie.

One article I read said he wanted the truck Kyle was driving. Don't know if it's true as to why he did what he did though.

The shooter, immediately after killing Kyle and his friend but before his arrest, reportedly told his sister something to the effect of "I traded my soul to the devil for a truck."

Got retired from the Army after 2 hospitalizations for PTSD. Still haven't killed anyone.

As was mentioned the guy made a comment about wanting CK's truck. I think the guy had been in and out of jail/mental hospital several times in the preceeding months and Kyle thought he could get through to him. I think Kyle was the sort of guy who saw his role in life as a protector but failed to recognize the danger he himself was in that day.

His motivation was to steal Chris's truck.

He really liked Chris's truck and the first thing he does after killing him is to steal the truck and take it over to his sister's and other people to show it off.

When a scum bag kills someone for their car, which happens every year, nobody says "oh that poor guy must have mental issues." So, just because this guy wore a uniform in a past life doesn't mean he's excused from killing Chris due to PTSD. PTSD doesn't make you a sociopathic killer who likes stealing trucks.

Nothing flipped him out. He didn't have some mental incident or Chris would have seen that coming. The dude waited for an opportune moment when he could shoot two men and steal a truck. That simple.

Scum bag should get lethal injection, but the prosecutor isn't pursuing that.

No idea, have to ask the prosecutor. There is a gag order in place so you will not able to ask anyone involved in the trial anything and get an answer out of them until it's all done.

In terms of "justice" though it is concerning that you've got a HUGE hit movie about the victim and the defendant can't have his attorney do a news interview. I do want to see a fair trial, because this is America so that doesn't sit right with me. Still, if this guy is found guilty I really wish he would get at least life in prison.
