Recently, I stumbled across an archived post here Where to get a Planet of the Apes M1 Carbine and wanted to respond, but learned I couldn't because it is archived.
So I'll post my answer here... APEMANIA.com makes replicas of both the 1968 PLANET of the Apes gorilla carbines as well as the 1970 BENEATH the Planet of the Apes rifles. Originally they were only available in "dummy" and airsoft models, but do to several "shooter" requests, the stocks can now be ordered to fit RUGER 10/22 and US M1 Carbines. Some folks have asked about stocks to fit the Chiapa/Citadel .22 cal or 9mm M1 replicas, but there are no current plans for those. Here are some images of the 1968 RUGER 10/22 model:

We put the 10/22 through the rounds at the range. Shoots fine with a RedDot site. Without the site, well results are about the same as trying to hit those crop ravagers from horseback charging through the cornfield!
haven't fired the .30cal yet, but soon. |
