Now I got black specks all over the hood where the paint got blasted off.

I can't win today.

A touchless car wash blew paint off your vehicle?  Was it painted with that non-toxic paint they use in kindergarten?

I don't think you can blame the car wash for that one, your paint was already starting to fail.

10 year old southern truck. Paint is (was?) good but a little faded from the sun. I guessing that had a part in it.

Are you sure that it "blew paint off" or just imbedded dirt in imperfections?

Try to clay bar it.

Supposed to get a full detail next week.

But no, it is paint that flaked off.

I'm horribly picky with my cars. It's a terrible thing to be.

I hope not for full price on a car with missing paint? That would be like paying full price on a pedicure when you only have every other toe.

The car wash didn't do that.

Also I see the OP is driving a ford. And as a guy that sees various paint issues daily I highly doubt that the paint job was OEM as I've never seen a newish ford with paint issues.

Nearly choked on some french fries. Good one.

Never had a problem with the paint on my '05 F150.  OP, do you have a close up of the damage?

You talking about all the rock chips that somebody had touched up?  If so, yeah that happens.

Maybe. The color matches the OEM code. There is some evidence that the box was repainted sometime in it's lifetime.
