I'm sure the corrosion control team will fuck it up in short order.

What's with the shoulders on that one in the last pic?  Is that the B variant?

They don't work.  They can't even fly.  Everything out there is just artists' renditions.

No it'll never work.  You know, because machines that complex and technologically advanced should work in the first year, with no hiccups or bugs to get worked out....

I mean the F16, F15 and F22 all rolled right off of the prototype line and achieved full combat readiness in a matter of months...

There was a thread were Gasbolt suggested that you could just add Canards, a tail hook, beefier landing gear to an F-22 and call it a naval variant.  Completely ignoring that you'd have a new airframe, avionics, hydraulics / electrical systems - you know, a brand new aircraft from the ground up.

Here's an F-22 flying around in the old primer during a contractor check flight.  After these initial check flights, the aircraft would move into final finishes to get ready for customer acceptance flights.  F-35 will be following a similar format, except for almost an order of magnitude difference in production rate.

You mean like this?

Yup, that's the "new" primer.

The F-22 transitioned to that primer some time around 2009, and because of the unfinished primer / finished panel pattern, a lot of people mistook the F-22s on check flights for Sukhois, me included.  The first time I saw one in a sat photo, I thought it was a Sukhoi being escorted by an F-16.
