BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. -

A police officer in Lawtey was confronted with a
dangerous situation during a call to help a driver, according to the
Bradford County Sheriff's Office.

Officer Jay Raulerson responded
to reports of a silver Toyota stopped in the median with the driver
attempting to wave down vehicles.

As the officer pulled up to help, the driver got out of the car and aggressively approached him, according to BCSO.

Officer Raulerson used a stun gun to subdue the driver.

After
further investigation, the driver was taken into custody for a medical
evaluation prior to pursuing any criminal charges, the sheriff's office
said.

The driver's identity was not released.

Not sure how I feel about that one.

I think he said "You better turn those GD lights off or I'm going to put it in reverse!"

Then he got zapped.

The way the guy jumped out he's lucky it's not .40 cal in him and not just a few taser prongs.

It's routine for police to pull up behind and run lights for a vehicle disabled in traffic, no reason for the guy to get upset...

Good tase.

It was about 7 seconds from the time I heard the officers door open, to taser, with the unhappy fud advancing.  That's barely time to get out of the drivers seat.

He had no reason to behave that way towards the officer and approach him in a threatening manner.

No serious injury to the officer...or to the man that was acting aggressively

if only all Police calls ended up with people not getting injured....

So before tasers would he have been shot?

The art of verbal judo is dead in law enforcement.

verbal Judo does not work if the person does not want to listen...

he most likely would have been tackled...which can cause a lot more injuries than taser's
