One of his best, but it was horrible marketed. I had no desire to see it in the theaters, caught it years later and was pleasantly surprised.

Funny that this thread is here, as I was just thinking about that movie after watching Star Wars.

So why do you Yanks pronounce it Sodder?

Because the 'L' is silent?

Latin is Solidare, Old French is Souder, Brits latinized it by putting the L back into it sometime in the 15th century

How do Brits pronounce "Lieutenant"

Sad but 100% true:

Last week I got jacked pretty hard by a cow orker for wearing my Jack Burton BTLC wife beater.  Racist, yellow skinned man.    I was beyond taken aback, but I also know what the world is today so I folded on the spot.   Abased myself, begged forgiveness...  I pretty much rolled on my back and pissed on myself.  LB is NOT happy about this.

Pretty sad, since I'm a huge Kurt Russel fan, BTLC has been one of my favorite movies since it was released, and it's been out longer than the complainer has been alive.   I spent 15 years tracking down that shirt. I've had it for about 6 years.

As I recall, it has been a while since I've watched it, there is a place where they show more awards/battles as he and a team unload and shoot the hell out of everything.

I'm pretty sure the Tannhauser Gates are listed there.

I can't remember where, but I remember multiple references to Bladerunner.

What I never noticed was the references to other roles Russell played - complete with "appropriate" awards.

This is making me want to see that movie again.

O'Neil Ring Award:

I guess I also have to watch The Thing again to see if the cross reference has more to it.

Kurt Russell did the Elvis voice work in Forrest Gump.

Don't remember where I heard that but think it was on a Director's Commentary he was doing for some other movie.
