I may have only seen it for a few seconds here and there... but I could have sworn I saw what looked like a modified AR15 with white furniture, white rails, etc. Anyone catch anything that looked similar in the film? I saw it for a few seconds, and then it went away to never be seen again.

Very possible. This picture is a Rebel blaster from the Endor scenes in Return of the Jedi. Look familiar?

That thing has never once been shown unfolded in a Star Wars movie, so for 40 years audiences have been taught to think of it either as part of the barrel / laser system, or a handgrip of some kind.

You're not thinking like a Hollywood prop maker.

It doesn't matter what it does, only what it looks like.

It's Brienne of Tarth, yelling through a tin can. One of the more off-putting things in the film. Imagine if they'd kept David Prowse's voice for Darth Vader. That's how off-putting I find it.

I believe the ones pictured are actual props.

The bottom one is very likely a resin cast from state of it - it would be far cheaper and far, far quicker to equip the background extras with resin props. Make a master, make a mold from the master, then start churning out resin copies that look good enough from a distance!

When the first trailer was aired, they showed it on ABC Evening News with david muir. Fans were picking apart the trailer and pointed out a mounted scope on the storm troopers rifles as they marched out of the craft.

LWRC uses two captive screws to keep the top rail in place, allowing removal for easier piston cleaning.
